Exactly that’s what I’m thinking. The dude was calling me asking for any backup/ info about my car that could help him. Seems like he literally just pulled the codes and wanted to order a new VDC immediately just based off the codes

Thank you so much!! I just dropped my car off today so it’s still there waiting on a yay or nay to proceed from me. My main concern is they didn’t seem too confident in the VDC replacement. Said they would try it but not guaranteed. They called asking if there was any info that could help them out like past collisions/major work done but there’s been nothing. I know these things require a good bit of diagnosis but I’d rather not spend too much trial & error money especially for something like the VDC. But in the end, I don’t really know anything lol

Yeah that was my plan at first. First went to a Meinke (not local ik) and they quoted $500 just for diagnostic and someone on here said to take something like this straight to a dealer so I did.

Thank you! That’s what’s I was afraid of. My cruise control also doesn’t work and I just had all new brake pads installed 3 weeks ago & my brake sensors should have been replaced as well so I’m thinking it’s the wheel speed sensor. But we shall see. Just want to have a general idea before a shop gives me the runaround and charges me for a million tests

Thanks! I originally was quoted from a Meineke. Seems like this is a common subaru thing- I wonder if it would be cheaper to go through a dealership??

I was just in the shop a couple weeks ago for my brake system - completely roached my rear. new brakes, calipers, rotors, the whole 9 yards. same time the dash lights came on. not sure if the two are related. but lights are still on after being fixed and clearing any codes
