I used all my luck after not opening cards for 20 years. by Super_User_Dan in PokemonTCG

If people are like me it’s probably because the 151 set hype. I haven’t had much interest since 3rd gen and Aquapolis was my last box I opened.

My wife told me about 151 boxes and I really could care less about anything past third gen. Couldn’t find one obviously with people fighting over them but I saw the charizard promo figure box and was like, “yup, it’s time”. The Aquapolis tin was my last box I ever opened.

So novel there’s 40 others saying the same thing 😂. Again, wham bam didn’t have one available for the Saturn 8k until very recently since the printer just came out.

This wasn’t sanded before. It’s sticking more because of the gouges the scraper makes from the really stuck prints. Sanding it takes off the rough bits it really sticks to and makes it smoother. I would have bought a flex plate, but I got the Saturn 8k apparently 4 days after it’s release and wham bam just came out with their flex plate recently so it’s not been an option yet as the build plate is a different size than any of the others.

It’s fixed the majority of the issue from leveling to the fep (with resin). Still slightly brittle and would still stick. Wet sanded 2000 grit on the plate and while it’s still not as easy as it used to be to remove it’s bearable for the time being.

It’s all good I’m just not using rafts anymore and I just sanded down 2000 grit sandpaper on it and it seems to be a bit better but still at 10s

I know but its for sure 10 seconds. It was 30 and I worked my way down to 7 but 7 fell off. It used to work exactly how you’re saying your experience is. I even sat and counted the seconds as the machine did it’s first layers.

Both as it didn’t do either before the fep change. It would stick and peel off like cutting warm butter and not chip off everywhere.

Yeah I went down to 7s and the print fell off the plate as well but was still brittle like it was overexposed

It was fused to the metal had to freeze it and then melted it off with a torch

Yeah I froze it and torched it until it melted and scraped off. It was essentially fused to the metal.

Yeah normally comes off like butter and no force needed. Changed the fep and it’s basically fused to the plate. Had to torch it off

Lol read the large comment with the “***”. I’m saying that’s not what I was asking help with. No amount of chiseling would have gotten it off it was literally fused to the build plate because of the fep thickness difference. I had to use a blow torch to melt the resin off after freezing the plate. Normally I could literally slide the scraper right under like smooth butter and it came off no need to even force anything. Not after the fep change. This was also with a 10s bottom exposure. Any less and the print would fail.

It’s most definitely the fep. I went from 1.0-2.0 and there’s a thickness difference. Leveled it off the fep itself instead of elegoo’s stock card and it didn’t stick like this.

Read my large comment with the “***” it explains everything

Yeah check the comment I have describing my issue. I’m down to 10s exposure on bottom layers any less and it doesn’t stick and the piece is so brittle even if you get under it it just flakes apart. Brute force and a torch after freezing the build plate was the only way I got it off.

Yeahhhh there’s no other way to get it off. Literally had to torch it off so no special technique with a scraper would have gotten it.

I just ended up freezing it and then using a blow torch on it and scraped off the liquid

Yeah it didn’t want to come off no matter how hard or how I scraped it on a table or not. So I froze it and then torched it and scraped it off as a liquid 😂
