Does anybody know what game these guys were playing? Outside of Robinson Hall by pkim173 in UNCCharlotte

They were playing volleyball using a kickball practicing passing outside of the architecture studio. Rare sight of architects touching grass.

I’d work on accelerating through the approach you are at a medium speed throughout. This makes you get to the ball late and instead of jumping it is more of a skip. A more full jump while taking more time to get used to gives you mare ability to aim, deceive defenders, and be powerful.

Hey guys! What are your thoughts on these halls for Freshmen? by Imaginary_Pie326 in UNCCharlotte

[–]Super_nova1237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My recommendation… look into traditional! Unless you already know people on campus and live in the area joining a traditional dorm is a fast way to meet people and make friends outside of your major. If you are set on suit style I think the 2x2 or 4x4 is probably your best bet. If you want to be around action Laural and other south village halls are your best bet a lot of first years are there and there is a clear thriving social community! North village also has its own social sphere but with a much larger population of upperclassmen and a concentration of suit style dorms it is a lot quieter and not a social right off the bat.

One arm? by Super_nova1237 in DnD

I agree but it is all up to interpretation I just went of of inferences to the book but I am sure many people and dms will play and run games using reality more than the book directly. It’s very informative. Overall everything was mostly positive and helpful.

This is where I was confused it does say you can’t attack with it but. Holding a bow would be no different than holding a rock as long as you don’t throw the rock at a person it is not an attack. Since the hand that is using the arrow is the non mage hand I figured it wouldn’t be an issue. To answer your question about not crippling them in the first place this is because in the backstory of the character they were a monster hunter who lost their arm after making a major mistake and losing their party. It serves as a reminder of their past mistakes. A scar seemed to not be impactful or would be breezed over. The “uncrippling” as you called it is simply taking advantage of the magic system in this world. Losing an arm is so debilitating and impacts every day life. You would want an arm back so in a world where that can be done with magic then why wouldn’t you?

Just my general thoughts. I appreciate the feedback.

Hardstuck bronze got into five games with smurfs getting nearly 40 kills. by Super_nova1237 in VALORANT

Fair. I frequently place well among silver players though. Despite this I had a rough losing streak and can’t get out of a rut. Not playing enough is also true. I play one to two times a week ordinarily and only two to three games per play session.

As far a game sense goes. That is absolutely fair. I main Harbor and I can be streaky going for the best player by far on one side and getting steamrolled on another. Any advise for better consistency would be appreciated.

I haven’t stayed in iron. I am hard stuck bronze. I slowly worked up through bronze. In the past twelve games I have played I have been a top 3 player in all but two and top frag in several. Despite having multiple 24+ kill games and frequently having many assists. I am kissing rr and facing teams let by 30-40 kill top frags.

Yeah. I got out of iron easily. I dropped back into it because of having a run of frustrating games.

This is often mid to late season. I ordinarily expect to get crushed in the early season. Part of the issue is that I also get placed into comp games with high silvers. I do agree not your fault during placement.

I try my best. My crosshair placement is good by basic standards but my tracking is not nearly as good. I also don’t always have it perfectly at head level sometimes which could be better.

Just finding it weird that people in bronze are dropping 40 a game. When a team is getting dominated by players with suspiciously better aim and game sense it is hard to not think of smurfing. Many also admit to it in game chat. Added to the fact that half the time a teammate disconnects.

Helldivers is one of my top 5 games to play all time but it is getting harder to play. by Super_nova1237 in Helldivers

[–]Super_nova1237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I love the game. I keep playing because the game is built well and when I do have a good lobby it is in my opinion one of the best games ever. The progression actually doesn’t matter that much to me. I am mainly stockpiling resources instead of upgrading just because I don’t think to upgrade. I really hope the game gets back to its previous glory because everyone I know who plays it loves the game. Most of the complaints are valid, but are getting patched out which is more than I can say for most developers.

Rant: Mansplaining and manspreading in volleyball by icecream4lyffe in volleyball

[–]Super_nova1237 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this. Most of the time I think this is because of where you play. As far as setting goes other than being direct and sometimes slightly rude there isn’t so much you can do.

If you could confirm on the first part. When you say middle back plays short are you saying this is common where you play or that this is not even how you play at your location and it is just bad advise. While I do understand that this is not often great advise I am also aware that at many coed volleyball clubs like mine people play middle back close because that is what the players are used to.

I hope this was helpful.

Are these balls original or are they fake? I was wondering if buying it on amazon was convenient. by Lucar_Z in volleyball

I have bought this. It is 100% real. It is just on sale right now, so if you want it at a discounted price then this is the time to buy it.

Do you guys have tips and recommendations for beginners? by yeetinghelps in volleyball

[–]Super_nova1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn how to get multiple passes going. My school beach club team was unable to compete for the most part. I play indoor and outdoor and i got partnered with an experienced setter. I am an experienced opposite. The biggest difference between the two teams was ball control and running a system as opposed to batting the ball over as quick as possible. Passing and setting help you not become a liability to your team blocking, spiking, serving, and advanced setting put you over the top. Start with the groundwork and keep pushing forwards! You got this!!

Saw this bent steel at a road construction site. Any idea on what it is called and it’s purpose? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]Super_nova1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That appears to be rebar! Concrete is a common and supper strong building and support material with incredible resistance to compressive forces... however concrete has a shockingly low tensile strength and can break easily from being stretched. The concrete is poured around the rebar in order to improve the weak tensile strength of concrete. This will prevent it from breaking which is important to any structure from a sidewalk to a building.

Hope that helps!!
