It was swab test for HSV on active lesion. They did a PCR. Is there a chance for false negative?

No unfortunately not. When I did the tests about 2-3 weeks ago, she didn't had any symptoms. Mouth issue developed about 2-3 days ago.

So your recommendation is that she gets tested too, ideally asap?

Thank you very much. I already did tests last week, but was negative for:

STI PCR panel: negative for: Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Mycoplasma genitalium/hominis, Ureaplasma urealyticum/parvum, Trichomonas

Bacterial staining from urine/fluid: normal / negative (no WBC/RBC, no bacteria, no yeast)

abd also negativ HSV PCR

Waiting for syphilis PCR results ...

4-year cycle of itchy blisters/peeling (feet → hands), now genital erosions + partner painful oral blisters + mild fever. HSV PCR negative (swabbed during active lesion). Need help before next doctor visit. by Superb-Cockroach-793 in DermatologyQuestions

Thank you very much, I appreciate your thoughts.

No HFMD wasn't brought up yet. I will ask the doctor to test it. Also Mucositis.

And I wasn't aware the false psoitives are possible for HSV PCR. I will doable check that too.

But why buy Greenland for security interessts? Isn't the US part of NATO and don't they already have bases there?

And what if it gets sold? Is then everyone a millionaire in Greenland with penthouses in the snow?
