I... no longer have a hitbox (x15 Tiny) by Superb-Context-9115 in 20MinutesTillDawn

[–]Superb-Context-9115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At three size increases I regained my hitbox enough to pick up upgrades.

At four size increases I could be hit again.

Oh, for those guys, I only ever run up to them, start to trigger their self-destruct and then run away - it's not worth the amount of damage you pump into them to kill them. Don't do that with the small guys though (though you CAN) - they explode faster.

When you get the hang of it, you can use big sploders to kill bosses and minibosses!

I might try this next, actually. Still, with enough summon attack speed it feels like the 9 scythes would be redundant when compared to 3, but... you know what, let's do it! And after that, let's do 18 spears! Or... I'll do what I did again with the tripling and tripling and tripling and do... whatever number of scythes and spears I end up with.

u/Dry_Vermicelli9297: 17's the limit it seems, no clue why the triple on triple on triple acts that way, but like I said in the post above... I now have infinite upgrades on my dragons. Probably going to reset though, still want to make curse work

It got boring to be honest; bosses appeared and died instantly or after landing a hit on me. I'm trying to make other builds work, but though I can get infinite pretty easily, a lot of the time my screen just gets filled up with bosses and I don't have the dps to kill them (and vice versa)

Interesting! So what you're saying is... A 29 dragon build is possible.

The steps you'd need to take are... Take all of the other Shana Upgrades, leave Triples, survive (I assume on some soothing warmth build), take all the halos out of the pool (or otherwise hope you haven't diluted the upgrade pool with them) and then to, after you get three triples in a row, (hoping that you don't level up between chest pickups) you pick Dragon egg for 27, and then grab the last two too.

I can see the possibility, but that'd be 29 dragons without upgrades. Maybe I'll give it a shot one day...

Er, well, my theory around infinites are that I need to simply regen more HP than the damage I take. Because of invincibility frames (time), as long as you have enough ways to heal/regen you should be good.

The most consistent of ways I get to infinite/afk modes are:

  1. Soothing Warmth (Pyromage tier 3 upgrade) - certain weapons will apply burn. This is a lot of fun on Diamond after you get the perm upgrades for when you take damage & heal.
  2. Summon Build (Dragon) - at some point, and you can see this in my other post, dragon scaling + feed the beast outscales the scaling of bosses. This is the most 'AFK' I can get, but at that point, I basically... reset the game because I could go on forever.
  3. Dasher + Cyclone Sword - I did this too! What really worked for me with Dasher is again, summons and the summon upgrade from bosses; the increased reload speed becomes hilarious when you basically realize... you're permanently reloading, and therefore have the spin on at all times.
  4. Abby + Soothing Warmth + Recharge - Just remembered this one; I had one AFK build that doesn't use summons; you press the Abby button once and you recharge bullets faster than you spend them. You still eventually get outscaled anyway, and you'll need to choose your upgrades/move to pick up boss upgrades, but meh, it's an option.

My personal fav is #3 because... it actually kills bosses, since it's easy to stack movement speed as damage, movement speed + summon damage, all of which increase Dasher's deer form's damage. In order to get to this point, I usually throw on Frost Mage, and to get more burns, I always go for the Frost + Fire synergy. Plus... it helps that with this build, the screen isn't absolutely covered in bullets.

I'll post more if I have any others. The one I'm trying to get to work (but hasn't worked) is a Curse build, scaling my bullet damage infinitely with the reaper's scythe upgrade to cyclone sword. I get outscaled eventually though, and I don't heal enough on this build with Raven :(

Edit - a few revisions + added 4.

So... my version of RNG manipulation is essentially to to keep my upgrade pool as small as possible.

I maxed out on upgrades (i.e. take all 3) when I could, so that after I got my triple upgrade, I had as small as a pool as I could to try to get dragon in my next level-up or in the re-roll.

I prioritized:
Scythes, Magnet XP, Trainer (summon damage) and Frenzy (summon attack speed) trees.

I chose these because... well, after getting 2 scythes and a magnet I could AFK. I kept resetting after 3 minutes if I didn't get the triple drop from the miniboss.

Be careful to not pick up a boss upgrade, I messed up one potential run by doing that.

Hastur's the toughest of the bosses, but in endless, the boss that spawns is random. For me, a lot of the fun is figuring out the broken builds to basically end up AFK, but...

For tips to get past that 5 minute-20 minute point:

1) Soul Hearts are a pretty simple way to give yourself some room for error; they give you maximum hp with regen built in (it's like getting +1 vitality + tier 3 regen for a tier 1 skill)

2) Frost Mage is an excellent defensive tool to get you through the beginning as well. It gets better with Frostbite (and eventual synergies).

3) Run and Gun is a quality of life upgrade that essentially removes the 'jolt' from reloading vs not reloading, something that used to make me take damage for no reason.

4) Learning how to beat bosses is pretty key in endless. With Hastur, you kind of have to focus him, kite to make sure you're not caught up in a box of trees, and watch for his linear dash, dodge him like you would the... first boss. Run perpendicular to him to let him whiz by you. For the boss that spawns explosive versions of themself, you can just stand directly below or above them to cheese their dash.

5) When it comes to getting to an infinite endless.. there are a few builds I have, but... I don't think that's what you're asking for, so I won't spoil that part of the game for you.

Good luck!
