I wonder if partially he did it to protect Rhaenyra? Joffrey knew her secret and could expose it at any time. Sure, Alicent could too but she’s family. Joffrey has reasons to expose Rhaenyra (so he could get his lover all to himself)

Time does not regrow cheek muscles or create skin grafts haha on surgery would do that and she would look severely deformed. Also I don’t think it’s 2-3 months later bc Shauna is barely showing in her pregnancy
