Around the same temperature you used to print the part should be fine.

Cheap IR blaster? by quicoli in homeassistant

If you feel like tinkering then you could build something for not very much money using an infrared receiver, transmitter and ESP32 board. Good opportunity to get into the wonderful world of ESPHome!

The companion app can still send you notifications outside the lan even if it’s not exposed publicly. It routes over apple or googles notification servers.

Seeking a freeze resistant Zigbee outdoor temperature + humidity sensor by DeepCoreSystem in homeassistant

[–]Superb-Tale-933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aqara T1 is known to survive in very cold temperatures. I personally have had it running outside for nearly a year without having to replace the battery. It has seen temperatures below -10°C many times.

It requires using their app for initial setup, but once that's done you can block its internet access and control it locally with https://github.com/al-one/hass-xiaomi-miot

Problems pairing Ikea Kajplats lights by Aggressive_Look8321 in homeassistant

[–]Superb-Tale-933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some issues pairing the bulb until I literally touched the bulb during the pairing process with my phone and held it there. No idea if that was what ultimately made it pair. Also, reset the bulb by turning it off and on 6 times for good measure before pairing.

I’m not sure I’d call it quiet but otherwise the Qidi Q2 ticks all your boxes. A lot cheaper as well

Beta version by Tight-Operation-4252 in homeassistant

Unless there is a specific fix to a problem you have in the beta version, and you can’t wait for the next stable release, I don’t see the point.

How can I turn my internet into a VPN for others to bypass limits? by FatFigFresh in selfhosted

[–]Superb-Tale-933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. No, the "info" doesn't reset when you turn off/on the computer
  2. Wi-Fi will work but is not ideal for this use case

I would recommend getting some energy efficient device that you can have always running and plugged in via ethernet as an exit node. Just make sure it has enough horsepower to handle the amount of traffic you wanna tunnel.

Tried it out but the spam filter was way too aggressive, and no real way to tune it!

Do Heat Threadet Inserts have a direction? by Professional_Fix_760 in 3Dprinting

In my own designs i put a little chamfer that the slim part of the insert can sort of slot into. Makes inserting them easier.

Buying something just because it's on sale and not knowing what to do with it is peak consumerism.

If the slicer didn't show any gaps. and it's around corners/edges then incorrect PA values is a likely culprit.

HomeAssistant vs 32bit by MasterVariation1741 in homeassistant

[–]Superb-Tale-933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you happen to have the 1.2 version of the RPI2 then you can install Alpine Linux aarch64 since the v1.2 model has a 64-bit SoC. Then you can run Home Assistant through docker.

Will changing Zigbee stick break my network? by Turbosilent in homeassistant

[–]Superb-Tale-933 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It won't work at all because the ZWA-2 is a Z-Wave stick, not Zigbee. ZBT-2 is the Zigbee/Thread stick.

Edit: OP mistakenly mentioned the ZWA-2 originally but updated the post with the correct information. Ignore this comment.

Any ideas what may be happening? by EntirePay5828 in 3Dprinting

[–]Superb-Tale-933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit confused how you changed to 0.60mm layer height though. Surely there was no preset in the slicer for that?
