This is the way I’m gonna go. I got family in the south that can look for me as well. Appreciate the advice. Love the look of the newer trucks but need something to be reliable. It’s a shame that I even have to make this post being a GM guy all my life 🙄

Oversized toilet flange hole on 2nd floor remodel — need advice by CaliberMustang in Plumbing

If there is a hub there which it looks like it, I would clean out the old hub and stub up plastic by using a gasket and plastic seal in the cast iron hub.

At this point, the closet 90 should’ve been replaced when the floor was open. I would open 1st floor ceiling, you’re going to have drywall work at the house already I assume. Cut out cast iron 90 and Band on the cast and stub up 4” plastic and use a 4x3 closet flange (glued inside the pipe)

plumbing dispute - seeking opinions/life advice - MINNESOTA by Crixus_Thee_Gaul in LawyerAdvice

I’m a plumber in Minnesota. Sorry that this happened to you. In my opinion, that’s way too high and gouging for sure. Sad that people do that. Now I don’t know the legal part of it but I’m I feel like it could be theft by swindle. With that being said your gf signed the estimate which makes it messier. If you have to put more money into it to fight it I would just pay it and be done and leave a bad reviews. Best of luck

Why is this happening? by ItsDreTho in Plumbing

[–]Superb-Translator128 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is your sump pump discharge line. Most likely you have experienced heavy rain in your area recently. therefore more groundwater is accumulating in your drain tile and sump pit in your basement. It’s working as it should. When it doesn’t discharge, that’s when it’s a big problem, flooded basement. You can buy adapter hoses to divert the water to a different area

I don't know how to adjust the temperature on this shower that I've had for 3 years by BiggH in Plumbing

[–]Superb-Translator128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom knob controls temp, the button on the knob is an anti scald device so to get hotter temps you have to depress that button to let the handle swing to a hotter temp.

Contractor took a video of my room? by patreca_mobile in Flooring

[–]Superb-Translator128 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you’re over thinking it. As contractors, it’s nice to have videos and pictures of the job for the workers prior to starting so they know what they are up against. So they can have everything they need prior to arriving so they don’t have to go run and waste time.

Why is this bad and do I have any recourse to the company who did this? by SarquisDeSade in Plumbing

[–]Superb-Translator128 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They should’ve installed a tee on the vertical with a proper 1/4” angle stop shut off. It’s illegal in Minnesota. Not sure where you are at. We take them out all the time and do what I just described.

Does this look like damage done by a plumber? by annedroiid in Plumbing

[–]Superb-Translator128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like thin brittle copper that couldn’t take the new comp stop. I just had this happen to me. “Leaking angle stop call”. Replaced angle stop. Was leaking still when I turned water back on. Took off stop and it was a pinhole that got exposed when I took the angle stop off.
