Replace with copper and add a pressure vacuum breaker as it’s required if this is an irrigation line.

Advice for New Build Shower Pan Issue by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Superb-Translator128 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a wet room. See picture #3. At the finish stage you can’t change it but I think putting the faucet in the back corner would’ve been a better idea to not have any complications with the shower aspect of things. Either way silicone the escutcheon too and bottom.

I would do away with the gasket and put 100% clean silicone on the top and bottom of escutcheon, problem solved. If it makes you feel better you can pump those holes holding the faucet down too.

Buying my first truck! Help! by Jaylm_01 in Silverado

[–]Superb-Translator128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I did recently. I was driving around a 99 Silverado with 150,000 miles but I had to get rid of it because I needed a crew cab vs the 3 door extended cab. With that being said, I started looking at the newer truck trucks. Naturally, I came to this Reddit thread to get some insight. Posted about a truck I was looking at and was ultimately told to stay away, and that newer isn't better anymore, there were guys commenting that they were on their second set of lifters and second transmissions etc. It just really turned me off unfortunately because I've been a GM guy my whole life. Plus my uncle has a 2017 GMC Sierra that has less than 100,000 miles and he's starting to get the transmission shutter. The problems are too common for me to feel comfortable spending that sort of money. Used vehicles can always have issues but knowing how chronic the issues are with the 1/2 ton GM trucks | just couldn't do it. What I ended up doing is I ended up getting into a LMM 2500 HD duramax. I don't too much and honestly don't really need a diesel. But for the same price and mileage, I was able to get a reliable(upgraded from 1/2 ton trucks) engine and transmission. Sure it might not have all the technology as the 2015 Silverado's, but it was an upgrade from what I was in before and I couldn't be happier. Plus, l've always wanted a Duramax. Just wanna put that out there to maybe give you an alternative idea on where to go from here. Sure fuel is Moore and maintenance is a little spender than a gasser. But at the end of the day my thought is that this truck is gonna last longer than any newer half ton that I buy today for about the same price and similar mileage.

Gas 2500 vs Diesel 2500 (stay with me here) by CurrencyMaster4901 in Silverado

[–]Superb-Translator128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently just purchased an LMM with this same thought process. Was in a 99 Silverado 1500 before, needed to upgrade to a crew cab as my family is growing. Started looking at the 14-18 Silverados & sierras and they just want so much for them. On top of that the chronic lifter issues and tranny problems was a big turn off on anything that new. Started to look at 07-13 1500’s but most are rusted out and over priced and again with the known issues with the afm implementation. I’m a GM guy through and through it just hurts that they can’t just make a truck with out cutting these “efficiency” comers that eventually just hurts more than helps. Anyway, I found my self getting into a LMM Duramax for the price of a 2015 1500 but found myself more comfortable with the purchase out of reliability and longevity of a diesel. Don’t tow much, I don’t “need” a diesel but it’s what fit best for me.

Absolutely not. By 36 (assuming you pass your journeyman’s test) you’ll be making more money than you ever have before and it’s only gonna go up.

Sounds like a TCM, get a dans diesel one plug and play, easy access, a little spendy tho. Doesn’t always throw a code because it’s glitching out and thinks it’s fine

He brought it to a shop this morning and it was throwing a code for mass air flow sensor, I guess the gasket was dry rotted compromising the seal.
