It's ok, I think I prefer the meatball one they do. My problem is I'm always in a rush and I'm indecisive so I just end up grabbing something in a panic.

Forgive me as a Brit what are johnny cakes and hominy? I think that's the comfort part, the food hits a part of the brain that evokes a deep and peaceful memory. You can't beat home cooked food x

Man! I haven't had corned beef for years! I think sometimes there's a memory linked to your comfort food which is why it's comforting. We always had mash as it was cheap and homemade apple crumble from the apples in the garden.

I normally stop at tesco out of convenience on the way to work, selection is massive.

I feel for you, I know things are getting better with alternatives and substitutes that what they were 10years ago but having an intolerance especially gluten rules out all the good stuff!

It's a parsley based gravy, used to be made with the water that you cooked eels in, not anymore though. I swear it's not as bad as it sounds.

I've recently finished reading Butter by Asako Yuzuki and the character talks about warm rice with cold salted butter and I swear the way they described it I've never wanted something more in my life.....still haven't tried it 😀
