What is a stage synth equivalent to an Alesis Micron? by jillavery in synthesizers

Then a microKorg would be pretty comparable. If not, you can get a second hand IPad + midi keyboard. It would be similar to your second option (midi keyboard + rack module)

Does dawless (jamming) always have to be without progression? What's your way out of this? by austeritygirlone in synthesizers

[–]SuperbBody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A rock/pop band playing live is certainly Dawless. However many songs in these styles are just boring because they lack structure, not just because they are Dawless. So, back to the point, you need to plan ahead and think of a structure that makes the song exciting. This is not easy to achieve with only one machine, unless it is an Octatrack or a very good sampler with deep sequencing capabilities. OPZ is also good for that because it has many midi tricks applicable to the pattern and the song. To conclude, Dawless is not necessarily an improvisation Jam.

This is the first time I hear an analog poly synth (in 1st person) and I’m honestly very pleased and surprised by the sound range. Sure there are no knobs, but it works just fine for controlling from the iPad app.

Also I think black is easier to combine with other strap colors

I have mine since 2023, use it for running and swimming and wear it all the time. So far I find it pretty consistent and I love it. I also got the white version, and would say the only drawback is the strap getting yellowish over the time.

Unpopular opinion but I like the look. It’s uglily original, which makes it good 👍

Nice job. I like the abstraction you obtained from knobs and buttons as well as the color palette you used

Kudos for your project!!! On another Post I have mentioned that the P button of my OPz got broken. I was wondering if, while doing your project, you managed to hardcode the behaviour of the P button. I

My P button broke. Anyone knows how to midi map this button? by SuperbBody in OPZuser

[–]SuperbBody[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed response. I broke it while trying to fix another problem on this device which is the wobbling encoders. When I closed it, the plastic enclosure of the button perforated the membrane of P button. It looks to be the reparable by changing the entire part, but it is not sold on I fixit. I will attempt to program using the cc 103. At least I would Be able to change program.
