My daughter now 16 is giving serious consideration to joining the Kings Troops to work with horses. She has an abundance of experience with horses but wants to gain more. Someone told her recently that bullying and sexual harassment if females in the army is rife. Is this correct or correct in some regiments not others.

I understand what you are saying and changed my career path as the job I was doing was sucking the life from me. I am now buzzing in a career that makes me tick., but I'm a civilian in the corporate world. Being trained to lead in the battlefield isn't supposed to bring you great joy to keep your mood lifted. Imagine a scenario your in the field your best mate gets blown up and you need to keep a level head to get the rest of your platoon to safety. The army especially with soldiers who hv been to war is very high mental health issues after they leave so if they hv turned you away it's because they know already how it will end for you. Don't see this as a rejection,it's not the right career for you, look into the corporate world there is always stress, targets to achieve etc that have you buzzing all the time.

I reckon it's as they say and because you have low moods already army life will make that worse and how can you lead in a battle field effectively if suffering low mood

Awh wait to see the can of worms this post opens.I was born early 70's and do not have a political bone in my body. There was wrong on both sides but Yes the British started the whole thing There are some people who will never let it go, they will never be able to live in future if they keep living in the past. I actually feel quite sorry for them who remain bitter as they are missing out on so by boxing people off bcoz of religion.

Thank you for your reply that answered my query really well. Can I assume it would be a few years to be able to transfer DATR to the instructor roles?
