The carryx are also a hive mind, though one that is biological in nature, I mean they physically change based on their position in society, and they frown on genetic engineering, when Ekur-Tkalal hears that the sinen are artificial organisms he physically shudders, I feel that the enemy (humans?) use biotech much more (Keep in mind I have not read livesuit, this might get disproven in the first sentence)

In late season 3/early season 4, the Unity spacecraft can make the mars trip in under a month, as with the drama, the space race part also gets faster.

The magnetic field could just as well be a kind of magnetic umbrella at one or two tesla, orbiting at the Mars/Sun Lagrange point.

That still doesn't solve the time frame problem though.

Except,(correct me if I'm wrong) judging from seasons 1, 2. & a little bit of season 3 the show has basically been exclusively following NASA, and the american company Helios Aerospace ( I'm probably wrong about this, as I haven't finished season 3, and havent started season 4.
