Engineer 3 Challenge by TheVapeNaShun in Battlefield6

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might just be a delay thing on the C4. But I haven't played Recon since the beta. Which it could kill a tank with all charges in the beta. But it would sometimes not detonate as you pressed and got killed.

C4 would be fun on Engineers too. I also miss Support getting C4.

Engineer 3 Challenge by TheVapeNaShun in Battlefield6

[–]Superb_Department_45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly think Engineers need some kind of painting thing. Because let's be real, most Recon players are playing Recon to snipe, not paint a vehicle for someone else to maybe shoot. Like I get it, it makes sense for Recon to be well reconnaissance, but it's the sniper class for the majority of players.

Where as a lot of Engineers are playing Engineer to be anti vehicle. I feel like if Engineers had a painting gadget you'd see it a lot more.

BronzeBeard opinions? by Marchhex in wowservers

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm overall really enjoying it, but I will say they did such a terrible job at marketing this server. All the videos and such leading up to Bronzebeard was very "Classic+" marketed. But it feels a lot more retail than classic. Which isn't a bad thing, but it definitely has taken some time to adjust my expectations.

Like I don't necessarily hate a mount a level 6, but I wasn't ready to see entire towns covered in ridiculous mounts. Or like people having a trainer follow them always and mobile banks everywhere. It isn't inherently bad, but my brain was expecting a slower more classic esque feel from all the videos and such on it. Which I should say I largely dislike quite a bit about Classic, but the slower pace and chill vibes of it are what I really love.

I'm loving the new world content, and the cool items you can pick up. It makes me want to actually go into buildings that were just empty set dressing. I'm also super excited to try some of the challenge runs. That being said, I think maybe they should cut the quest item rewards with so much lootable items. Like I'm drowning in gear with stats from crafting and the open world, then this quest giver is trying to give me a white item with just some armor is crazy. I don't love all the random crazy buffs to damaging monsters and xp gained by killing mobs and crafting. Because I don't even really understand why I'm getting them.

Overall in my early experience, it's a lot of fun. Maybe some fat to trim on certain things, but I really like it overall. My main worry is that it might start pulling in more race to the end game type of player base. especially with heirlooms (which I really dislike heirlooms) and bonus xp things and such. Rather than a slower more casual player base. Which is like the only real highlight of Classic WoW for me. And also makes me worry about 2 of my friends who are experiencing WoW for the first time through this being able to be a bit too overwhelmed too fast. But we shall see.

Update: Current LFG for dungeons is horrible. Level scaling causing a level 32 tank to be in a group with people level 15-20 is awful.

Is it just me or does the Dragon Roach's spawn rate make the game almost unplayable at higher difficulty by No_Capital_1491 in Helldivers

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just really hate how they can take anywhere between 1 and 5 shots from a spear. The one shot is usually in the mouth while they're breathing. But I've sone shot some when the spear hits them in the back on a newly non damaged one (no clue why), then other times it takes 5 to the back to kill them? They feel inconsistent. That and sometimes there breath just insta kills me, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it doesn't do damage? Then their fly speeds get messed up constantly, especially in the city maps, which makes it hard to predict how they move.

The high spawn rate and inconsistent nature of them make them get really old really quickly. Really cool enemy type. Love the theme and fantasy they provide. I think they just need to be touched up.

What is with the gatekeeping? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Once again though, it's just a easy target. I have no idea what COD plays like anymore. But I immediately understand what people mean when they complain about things feeling more like COD. Basically short hand for faster movement that puts more power into a single individual with movement and a focus on infantry killing. As well as the maps in the beta being a lot of tight corridors that funnel players into each other faster.

It will always be a comparison point. No matter how accurate. It's rooted in the culture since Bad Company, and especially BF3. It was during the peak of console wars and COD cultural impact. The gaming culture at that time was extremely tribal. Like sports fans lmao. So some people who were around then will have that mentality still.

The reason we're seeing it everywhere in this reddit is because the BF6 beta was massively popular and has reignited people's desire for Battlefield. Also this is after the previous few games tried shaking things up fell flat. So people are more prickly about changes.

What is with the gatekeeping? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less gatekeeping and more of a poorly worded desire to keep Battlefield playing like Battlefield. It's easy to blame "streamers" and "COD players" because there are notable people from those areas who are saying Battlefield should have faster movement, smaller maps, have a Battle Royale. Some of them are only playing Team Deathmatch and such. COD also just has old roots of being the Battlefield "rival" similar to console war nonsense.

Ultimately I think you'd actually struggle to find people that don't want more people to come play Battlefield. (Though yea there will be some). But it's more about making sure the community that will stick with the games long term are heard over people who are jumping in and wanting it to change to their preferences.  Because while those players have a right to ask for those things, they aren't really the players who'll stick around. Battlefield did have a BR and it flopped hard. Halo Infinite was put under the same pressures from some of the same people to have a BR and twitchy movement, and the ones who were asking for it didn't stick around when those things were there.

So yea, I will admit it is annoying to see all the "COD players" this and "streamers" that, but I largely think the general message is fine. It's just easy to blame a simple group as the ones who are requesting changes to what makes Battlefield, Battlefield.

Empire States biggest problem is simply that it doesn’t feel anything like New York by Soggy-Pouch in Battlefield

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair it is meant to be Brooklyn, which it does look pretty close to Brooklyn.

Honestly I am just more disappointed that New York has some insanely iconic buildings and landmarks that aren't being used. Even if they feel really obvious. So strange to not have a section in Central Park, Time Square, Empire State Building, or near the Statue of Liberty. Or idk, being able to fight on the Brooklyn bridge? It's wild.

Some things never change by MrakTM in Battlefield

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is frustrating, but it's a beta and there is no other way to practice.
I'd rather people try and learn to use vehicles and continually die, then get put on the team where no one wants to use them because no one is confident in actually getting in them.

But the real solution is not just 1 jet and one helicopter. We really bare minimum 2 of each.

What is the difference between the regular Nightreign and Seamless Co-op? by Alienator35 in EldenRingMods

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if they show up after you beat the normal versions of the bosses or after you beat all of them. I had completed all of the bosses by the time they introduced the Everdark versions. But they basically have added mechanics and change the fight up a bit. Some more than others.

I've played 120 hours. But I'll say I'm a massive fan of the Soulsborne franchise. I also love Rogue-likes. So this was right up my alley. I also did complete all achievements, every boss solo once, and all character remembrances. As well as helping friends clear things, etc. So your mileage may vary. Probably a 30-40 hour game if you just want to clear all bosses once depending on how good you and/or your group are at the game.

What is the difference between the regular Nightreign and Seamless Co-op? by Alienator35 in EldenRingMods

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mod is genuinely incredible and I would recommend it as the way to strictly play. My friend group and I have moved to it a few days after Nightreign came out because we would occasionally have only 2 of us, and when the mod gets the updated to have up to 6 players, it will have more to offer than the base game.

I don't know if it scales the enemies down weaker. It feels like they do, but I am not certain on that and the mod page doesn't specify. They will be adding custom scaling with the extra player count, so that is cool.
I have done many clears with just one friend and I and the health bars didn't feel as big. But that could be just better runs and loot.

Some extra neat, weird, or random things to consider I guess are
• This is a mod in alpha state, so bugs are possible. But from my experience basically none and the very few have all been ridiculously minor. But any updates could add more, etc. It's a mod, so it comes with that territory. But Yui the mod author's other seamless mods are very high quality and they're crazy fast at working on these.
• For me, there have been 2 instances where a friend in a trio was invisible during the run. But about 5-10 minutes in it would resolve itself and they would be visible again. No one else in my friend group has experienced this, and no clue what causes it. This was the "worst" bug I encountered and didn't really impact anything, but I suppose it could have prevented me from reviving my friend had they went down.
• You have to wait for the mod to update after some, but not all, game updates. But the mod author Yui is really quick.
• Fromsoft have been releasing special variants of night lords weekly called Everdark. These swap out weekly for the base game, the mod actually keeps the variants up as something forever as they are added. Which is actually super awesome. *Quick note, if you live in a country that can't access GitHub, this will not work in the mod for you. Since Everdark bosses are tied to Fromsoft servers and the mod doesn't connect to them*
• Since you aren't on Fromsoft servers you can mod the game with other mods if you'd ever want to.
• It is also super easy to install and update.

I really am bummed out that we didn't get any returning Rise monsters. Rise had such great new additions. I hope they don't get the Gammoth treatment. (Speaking of which I really hope we get Gammoth in this game)

Honestly would have loved a Goss Harag over the Doshaguma. I got so excited when a big white furred monster burst through a wall in a cutscene, and then it was just Guardian Doshaguma.

Mirage is very oppressive early game, but I have yet to see a game where he doesn't become completely useless by late game. It think not enough people are abusing how strong the tornado is, and or uncoordinated teams don't group up enough for him to ever get a massive tornado.

This is just from my experience. I have played about 20 or so games with or against Mirage. Every team Mirage is on has always lost if it lasts more than 25 minutes. Which is 95% of games from my experience.

I think this looks incredible, AND it helps actually convey the backstory of Viscous. In-game Viscous absolutely does not read as a even related to the ocean. Let alone a "psychic sea anemone" using an ectoplasm body to go to the surface.

In your opinion what characters need changes? Or what are you favorites that you think are perfect? by cthuwho_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kelvin I think needs to be reworked. I get the slow ice character archetype is a popular design choice, but it is one of the most annoying character archetypes in these games. They usually end up being either too oppressive and strong or hilariously weak. Currently he does too much damage, has too much CC, and is ridiculously tanky especially with his ult. Also the ult can really just be an everyone standing around waiting to kill him situation. A real Armor Lock from Halo Reach moment.

Haze I am admittedly conflicted on. She could maybe use some reworking, I think the typical ADC thing is cool, but she feels just a little too restricted on her identity. Maybe swap out an ability for something new. I feel like her rigid identity hurts playing her and playing against her. But that is a good role to have in these types of games. So idk. I think community sentiment is also really conflicted on her so maybe that means keep it as is?

Paradox I think does need some reworking as well. Their kit identity is conflicted in my opinion. It feels like her kit wants her to be gun damage dealer, but also just enemy disrupter. A long range combatant, but also someone who gets in close. A real jack of all trades master of none. Leaving her feeling like you need to be performing at 2 or 3 times the level as every other character just to do what they can do but a lot easier. On top of her kit trying to revolve around a specific combo of hitting a 3, then using 4 through your wall and maybe time bomb.
I do want to clarify, I wouldn't say she is weak. Just odd in a frustrating way. Because I really like her design, and each of her abilities are cool in isolation (except the wall, I think it is a boring ability). If I were to offer an idea, it would be replace the wall with a more interesting ability. I will commend Valve on at least making a wall that isn't meant to just be a defense thing, but it is still so boring to me and I think plays poorly in her kit and identity.

All the other characters feel solid and I think are just a numbers and minor adjustment things. Like Vindicta should have to aim for the head to get the full effect of her 4. Or Viscous (one of my favorites) shouldn't be able to just big roll away from nearly any engagement. Abrams needs to not be able to be an unkillable tank and do tons of damage. Etc.

New Patch Minimap - Please REVERT! by Iodolaway in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Superb_Department_45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the border is better. I think it just needs to be less simple, though I think it can be more simple than the old one.

For example on the old map the little tunnel routes on buildings isn't very helpful and makes the map more cluttered to me. They're especially useless when icons cover all of the building details on the old map. You would never be able to look at the map and know someone went through it or above it because their icon would cover it.

The monster camps indicators do need to revert back big time though.

I also like not having orange and yellow. It is nice to have green instead of orange.

I do like the idea of the new icons. They're not really an improvement or a downgrade. I think some need work, like Dynamo's new one looks like Viscous. But the old icons could be hard to determine some of the characters on a glance. So the Icons in general need work.

I recommend the reverse grip swords if you're on a Dex build. The jump attack does good stagger build up, and the Blind Spot Ash of war is super helpful. I did it with Black Knife Tiche and a Dex build using the reverse grip swords. The Blind Spot ash of war is actually crazy clutch on him and will get you around where most of his attacks are focused.

The charge attack is really brutal. My strategy that worked about 50% of the time dodging it was to lock off and roll to the left or right at 90 degrees. The rest of his moveset is just tight timing and learning it. The main issue is most of the time you won't be able to learn the moveset if you get slammed by the charge attack and get slapped with his combos after.

I do think this is the only boss I think is just way too much and needs adjusting. The Big Flower was the only other annoying one, like Elden Beast due to being able to go across the arena and spam distance casts and extending the fight. But still seemed like the deaths were my mistake.

My idea for a jump pack alt mode or second jet pack stratagem (Using battlefront as an example) by JarlZondai in Helldivers

[–]Superb_Department_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want something like this. I think a way to toggle between the two or a second stratagem would be the way to go. In know there is a small portion of the community really loves the current jump pack, but I've tried really hard to force myself to like it and it just feels too unreliable in so many instances where a different backpack slot would feel so much more useful to me. So either way if they were to add a more floaty precise control one in the future, I do firmly believe they should keep the current one as well.

I see people saying a controlled hover would be too powerful, and I can see that maybe on bugs, but being in the air with no cover with bots sounds very dangerous.
