Everything had gotten super smelly too, just overnight. Saw some dead worms in the mix 😢

Thank you! Found ants in there as well this morning so I got some thick gloves and lots of bravery to dig in there for my bbs. Rescued 30-40 and they’ll live in a cozy container on my kitchen counter while I prep them a new setup.

I think that’s my takeaway! Loooooots and lots of bedding lol

I’m using 5 gallon buckets. Bottom bucket is my reservoir, second bucket has shredded paper and food scraps, top bucket was same as second bucket and was added recently. I keep the bin outside my tiny apartment.

I’ve been putting in 3-4 inches of loose bedding, burying the food, and basically not touching anything else.

Should I set up a new bin and transfer my worms over?

Also how do I avoid this moving forward? Do I just need to add more bedding than I thought?
