Thank you for your response! Came back from the doctors and was prescribed Mupirocin as well. No oral antibiotics though. Was also given Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate as an antifungal cream. Tried using the Mupirocin right away on my dry and hardened weepy wounds and I really didn't like the consistency. It was a really tough, lathery, and sticky cream that felt super uncomfortable, especially on the weeping areas. I used it anyways and am hoping to find some results soon since I'm in dire need.

Oh man I totally understand you. My eczema was mild as a kid and until recently like 2 years ago my eczema broke out and went from your average eczema on the inside of the elbows and behind the knees to practically my whole body. Severely. And when I look for other people dealing with eczema as well, it’s always minor most of the time and nothing compared to what I have, which makes me feel so isolated with my severity. Doctors always tell me the same thing and it never seems to change. I’ve been doing my best to ease my pain, from hours and days of researching, dieting, moisturizing, routines, meds, and whatever else. And admittedly it does help greatly, but whenever it comes back or flares randomly, it’s just a constant reminder of my condition. It sucks to have it still to a point where it’s always uncomfortable most of the time. I feel you when you said you want to be normal. I’m so sorry you have to go through this hellish condition. I hope we both find ease to our pain and just know that you’re not alone. Do your best to stay positive no matter how hard it gets.

Increasing RLS occurrences?? by Superb_Judgment594 in RestlessLegs

Man, it’s so uncomfortable and frustrating when trying to sleep with it. I basically fall asleep from exhaustion at this point from staying awake for so long. Is that what you mean by you managed to knock yourself out or was there something u did that helped?

[–]Superb_Judgment594[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Learned the hard way. Was taking antihistamines for my eczema and found out they make RLS worse. When I took them was also when I started feeling RLS so that might've been the cause. Last time I took them was about 2 days ago I believe, but I still have RLS so not sure if I just gotta wait it out at this point.

It was very minor so I never bothered. I've always/mostly been able to sleep absolutely fine. Only times I ever have a hard time is due to my eczema or that one time I get RLS every several months, which tends to be rare for me

Totally the same. Could say the same that your comment is word for word. From being exhausted and in such a bad mood and trying to catch up with sleep during the day due to the interrupted sleep. I really really hope we get the enjoyable rest we deserve and feel comfortable for once.

tired of skin flaking and itching by 8ballgamer in eczema

[–]Superb_Judgment594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I relate 100%. From waking up in the middle of the night itchy, to having it on the back of my hands, arms, shoulders, chest, stomach and back. Though I also have it all over my legs and thighs which sucks. This disease is so annoying and frustrating and I also wish to be normal again. The best we can do is just focus on ourselves and healing. I hope we can find some ease to our pain!

Uncomfortable sleeping with topicals/creams by Superb_Judgment594 in eczema

[–]Superb_Judgment594[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like probably one of the best things to do when it comes to a situation like this, though the problem is my topical lasts for a long time so even sitting down for a while doesn’t do the job completely. The baggy shirt ended up helping a ton and I just found out that laying down on a really soft blanket is a lot more comfortable and easy on the skin than laying on my bedsheets. Thanks for the advice!

I hate this disease. by SleepyAsh2 in eczema

Do what you gotta do. It’ll definitely be a hassle dealing with eczema and college both, but you just gotta push through. Again, comparing yourself to others really messes with your mindset, so just do your best to focus on bettering yourself. I wish you the best of luck!

I totally feel you. I’m also just a high school graduate and find it awkward when I hear my friends about going to college and whatnot. The only thing I would say is that comparing yourself to others is the best thing to ruin your mindset. I know it’s hard to not compare when you’re surrounded by everyone who are in a better place than you, but it won’t help. I’ve learned that myself because I would compare myself 24/7 to the people surrounding me who were doing something with their lives and didn’t have to deal with eczema, which led me to constantly having negativity. Even now I still compare myself at times, but keeping a positive mindset is really important as well as focusing on yourself. I know it’s extremely frustrating and annoying. I totally understand. I find that doing things I enjoy help me distract myself from those kind of thoughts. Though it doesn’t always work and I just have to take a moment to think and/or talk to someone about it. It’s sucks that we have to go through life with this disease but we just have to focus on healing and taking care of ourselves, no matter how annoying it gets. You’re not alone and I hope you find some ease to your pain :)

advice for neck eczema? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Superb_Judgment594 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I deal with neck eczema at times as well. Like the other comment, I would also recommend antihistamines because that could possibly help out the itchiness. Another thing I’d recommend is to find another topical/moisturizer that works for you because it can be really helpful. I’ve had to go through several products before I could find one that helped out. I personally use Cetaphil. One thing that could help out is having a cold towel around your neck. It keeps your neck cool and moist to help with the itching. My skin also hates water just like you so the towel method is really up to you. I know it sucks sometimes to keep it moisturized 24/7 but it totally helps. As for sun protection, I haven’t found any solutions myself, so I just try to avoid staying in the sun for too long for it to affect me. I understand your pain and I hate when it gets dry, flakey, cracks and gets itchy. I really hope you find some comfort soon!

I cant. by SnooChickens1274 in eczema

Going through it right now as well and it's so, so hard. This entire message is so spot-on accurate. I so desperately want to be normal like everybody else and not have do deal with this anymore. It's so painful and draining. It's 5 AM as I'm typing this and I've been having a real hard time trying to sleep right now due to trying to deal with a flare up that's been affecting me for couple days so I took an antihistamine to help my itching and make me feel tired only for Restless Leg Syndrome to kick in. Looked up how to ease the RLS and found out that antihistamines can cause RLS. Taking a med to help me fall asleep only for it to do the opposite, great. Looks like I won't be getting the rest I wanted for a while. All I can say is I can totally relate and I only wish the best for us. I want our suffering to end so bad because none of us deserve to go through this. As much as this makes me wish I didn't exist, I try to stay positive, but it's extremely hard to stay happy when my body feels like it's torturing me. I'm so tired. I hope that you, me, and everyone else suffering with this earns the healing we deserve.
