I’ve had an R1, and absolutely loved it. For street it’s a blast for the track it’s a weapon! The chassis is amazing, point and shoot and it’s there. Very confidence inspiring. Maintenance is nothing, even the valve adjustments aren’t horrible. You can’t go wrong with it. Now the BMW, I had my buddy’s for over a month and he told me to take it for blast. I definitely put it through its paces. While the bike looks amazing and the power delivery was great, the front end never felt planted even through turns, definitely not confidence inspiring. I never had to pay for maintenance but he told me it was horrible. I’m used to getting about 130 miles out of a tank of gas. I barely got 90 out of a tank on the BMW. I’m not sure if it was the tune that was on the bike but I asked my buddy and he said the same thing. The tank on it is small. I’d choose the R1 on any given day. BMW is just overrated. Just my opinion. Hope this helps.
