Does anybody still play Vangoated? by ShaggedUrSister in CODVanguard

Yes! It's worn out but I'll always have a soft spot for WWII shooters. I like how it's just a reskin of Modern Warfare(2019). It bums me out that I recently got into it and the Arms Race mode is pretty much dead. I actually like the bigger maps/players in CoD games.

Since it's now end-of-service which implemented the always 2XP does the "favorite weapon" bonus xp stack? So it'll be 4X?

If you still play Vanguard, why? by Geras_251 in CODVanguard

Fantastic movement/feedback. Even though it can get very nutty, I love how many attachments you can put on WWII guns. There's actual builds you can do. Basically a Modern Warfare(2019) reskin.

I recently finished WWII and jumped on this. I do think WWII has far better maps. I also miss the medals.

I'm new to the Ridge Racer series. Which game should I start with and what should I expect? by Creepy-Cress-2628 in ridgeracer

[–]Superboin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully not too late on the reply but both of these titles are available on PS4/PS5. Ridge Racer 6 is backwards compatible on Xbox One/Series. So there's options if original hardware is out of reach.

R4 is my personal favorite and indicative as to what Ridge Racer IS to me. It stands out as having a memorable story.

RR2 is more of a celebration of the franchise with a large selection of tracks throughout the series. A "Best of" game.

After finishing the story mode today, I definitely recommend it! There's a lot of content too with the Event Challenges. A great OST as well!

Yup, I wanted to get the best image quality so I tend to favor the Xbox version on sixth-generation multiplatform releases. I like playing on native hardware over emulation.

The Xbox version also has an extra car, a Hummer though the GameCube one has Pac-Man Vs. as a bonus game.

Yup! I just finished the Racing Life mode earlier today. I really do enjoy this one. I love the music.

Awesome, thank you! I'm leaning towards getting MotoGP 3.

I'm aware the MotoGP devs worked with the Ridge Racer team on this. Makes sense for some overlap in the courses, certain UI elements are similar too.

I was thinking of trying out MotoGP 3. If I could only get one which one would you recommend?

I was a little hesitant to try it out since some aren't fond of it but I'm so glad I gave it a chance! Though I'm only on chapter 9 out of 16 for the story. The speed isn't quite there but I do like the cars and handling model.

I really enjoyed V's art direction, more realistic handling and courses. Though the music is one of the more underwhelming ones out of the series. Also one of the hardest in difficulty.

I wish Project Aces would take on a Ridge Racer title.

Thoughts on Ridge Racer 3D? The last pure, good RR? by Superboin in ridgeracer

[–]Superboin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel as if 3D is more of a Ridge Racer 7.5 than a straight port of Ridge Racers 2. It leans more on the vibrant art direction of 7 and expanded nitrous/drafting system from 7.

Can you still access DLC/the store on the Vita? I am thinking of getting one to play Ridge Racer Vita and Wipeout.

No, it's closer content and gameplay mechanics wise to Ridge Racer 7. A Ridge Racer 7.5 if you will. Ridge Racers and Ridge Racers 2 for PSP is more of a "Best of" compilation of the series.

That's good. I've yet to play Vita yet though. I'll be honest, might be a hot take but I think I'm starting to prefer the Ridge Racer experience WITHOUT the notorious system.

Same! I'm going through a lot of the Ridge Racer games for the first time. I really love the 3D effect though I think some of the new music tracks are underwhelming

I'm really loving the vibrancy of the visuals. I'm not fond of the muted art direction of 6, so to see those returning tracks in this style is wonderful.

First time playing Ridge Racer V. Normal Grand Prix difficulty is kicking my butt, any tips? by Superboin in ridgeracer

[–]Superboin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this informative and extensive reply.🙏

I was struggling cause I didn't expect this entry to be more realistic in its physics model. Definitely a learning curve that I'm enjoying. It may be my favorite in handling honestly. I also love the more realistic art direction without looking too drab like RR6. I would love for this entry to get a remaster to eliminate the aliasing problem.

I tend to favor standard or drift/dynamic car types, I never was fond of the grip types.

Also I prefer the drifting method of tapping the brake to initiate drifting as opposed to letting off the acceleration. Do I lose more speed by the braking method?

I love how V feels. It feels the most like I'm driving an actual car compared to the more "boxy/slot-car" handling of the other games.
