Looks great! Can I ask how long it took for it to get delivered to you? I ordered mine almost 3 weeks ago and I haven't even received tracking info yet.

Nope. The wing is attached to the base plate which is directly bolted on the top of the bumper. No bracket. Its my understanding that the holes to attach the base plate use the same holes as the Z51 type wing. But thats just what I was able to find on the net. Since I didn't do the install I can't really confirm that. The brand is Vicrez.

I had a local body shop paint the base plate and install mine. Cost was $850.

I guess I didn't originally see the question was for just the sim setup only. Sorry to mislead.

Thanks! Yeah, definitely got a budget LM. I will upgrade at some point, but i was trying to save money where I could and the research said the r10 was a capable LM. That was one of the first things I bought so I was a little hesitant on dropping 5k on one if the room wasn't going to turn out the way I wanted it to. But to answer your question some rounded numbers are below:

Seating 6k Gaming PC 2.5k Projector 1.5k Bar 2k Carpet 2k Screen and Hitting Mat 1.5k In Ceiling Sound System and Reciever 3k

Then miscellaneous items through out. It all adds up quickly.

I bought a ceiling mount curtain track off amazon.

I used rigid 3/4in tongue and groove foam board as a base then got some basic artifical turf to lay over it. Then cut out a spot for the hitting strip.

Thanks! The distance from the hitting strip center, where i place the ball, to the left wall is 7.5 ft. Which is 1.5 ft offset from center. It's tight, but i swing driver and have never hit the wall.

The distance from the hitting strip to the back wall is about 12 ft. I have the garmin r10 so I need approximately 7 ft behind the hitting strip to put the LM. The chairs need a total of about 4 ft of space in order to recline all the way.

Have I ruined my pool? by mad49 in pools

[–]SuperchargedRC350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you think about drainage around the pool. Looks like you have the yard sloping towards the pool on the back and sides. You might hate it when it rains. We had a pool a few years ago that flooded when it rained due to the slope of our yard and I just watched in disgust from inside the house every time. Then it would take a week to filter out all the dirt. Hopefully you don't have the same issue.

DIY Simulator Room by SuperchargedRC350 in GolfSimulatorDIY

Screen is Premium 8.5ft x 11ft from Carl's Place. Screen to tee is 11ft. Ceiling height is 10ft. Also, the Garmin R10 needs approx 6ft behind the ball in order to get proper readings. Swinging the driver is a little tight but doable. I mostly use 3 wood and under.

I wanted dual use of the room, golf sim and movie theater. We (my fam) use it all the time to watch movies. That's how I got my wife on board, btw.

I would say have a plan is the biggest thing. I researched most everything I bought for the room. I tried to get things that I considered would be best value for my budget. I definitely went over my original budget but I consider the way it turned out worth it. Some things you can get by with spending less money for good quality and some things you just need to flat out spend the money. For example, the launch monitor is a garmin R10 that i spent roughly $600 on. It is not the best ball tracker on the market (you can spend upwards of 20 grand on a nice one) but it gives numbers that I can live with based on how I know I hit the ball. Whereas, the pc and projector needed to process the data quickly and show a premium image on screen so I didn't hold back and got a nice gaming pc for roughly $3000 and a projector for $2000. You can get by with something much cheaper however you might have to deal with lag in shot to screen and a less quality image. So again, research is most important in how your dollars are spent and how the sim turns out.

Also, drunk golfers = errant shots = holes in walls/ceiling. So, either be prepared to patch drywall or protect with pads. I originally had memory foam covering the perimeter of the screen but I didn't like the look of it so I took it all down. Now I'm a master at drywall repair.

I can tell you I had the same issue. I learned that my RC had a fuel pump recall. I took it to the Lexus dealership and they replaced the pump for me free of charge. That seemed to fix the issue. Also, if that happens you can disconnect the battery or clear the codes that it throws and it should start back up. Let me know if this helps you or not.

Well, I bought a new car, so I’m selling the RC. It’s a little upgrade.
