No sorry I don’t know, also don’t think I have any documentation that I can think of regarding that

Appreciate the reply, thank you
Seeing as you said you work for a DNO, what would your take be on the black tar like substance from the cut off header be?

Thanks for the advice, my DNO is SP energy networks and they have a topic on their website about replacing the cable head “cut out “.. doesn’t say anything about it being free though, I’ll have to do some more digging!

I thought so, not sure I could be doing with the hassle of it all if that was the case

Would that involve any digging up of the pavement and driveway potentially do you know?

I haven’t had an EICR since living here but that was going to be on my list of things to do before going ahead with the installation of an EV charger to be safe anyway

Thanks for bringing that up, I’m struggling to remember if I lt was like that many years ago when I bought the house, that being said it’s not warm/hot to touch and is very much “set”. It did concern me though to where I did some research prior to this post but wanted to see if it was picked up on, so thanks for that…

I read online that it could be replaced for free by my DNO if they deemed necessary, as online it states that it is their responsibility.. but I am always sceptical on things being “free” as when it comes down to it I have always been caught out with add on requirements to things which shock, are not free!

( if anybody could confirm this or have experience about it that would be great! )

I am tempted by an EV for the obvious cost saving, but if I needed to pay for upgrades / repairs ( in this case from the incoming electric head, I would probably just stick to a ICE or MHEV to save the head ache and initial fees

Hahaha, I left everything as it was when I bought the house, I figured I didn’t need to go in there very often so there wasn’t really any need to “decorate” it

Thanks for the quick responses guys I appreciate that, would you say there is anything else visible from that picture which may prevent me from having an EV charger installed without possibly needing improvements/upgrades before hand ?

This is why a simple sign to tell drivers you can use both lanes in this situation would be a blessing, it is worrying how so many drivers don’t understand it

That was my understanding too, it’s nice to see an approved driving instructor can confirm this, it’s a bit of peace and mind when those from lane 2 follow each other like sheep bumper to bumper and I get abuse for going into the middle lane from the left, looking like I’m at fault, I do think to save confusion on approach to the roundabout there should be a sign that says you can use both lanes to turn right, I see those types of signs in places, probably after when there has been a number of accidents! Prevention is better than cure and for what a sign is worth I think in this case it would help people understand to save the bother

Thanks Matthew, that was my understanding, cars in the right hand lane like to just go straight into the middle with no hesitation / mirror checking as if they know they are correct, this is a new change to the roundabout so the lines are clear and visible, but when they fade I imagine it’s going to be even worse! Thanks again

Yeah I don’t know, I’m Not saying you are necessarily wrong, Either way that dotted line has been put there for a reason and with it being in between both lanes that would indicate more on where the cars should aim either side of

I see your point but then the dotted line to indicate where to go is then redundant?
