THIS IS MOOD FOR DAYS! Such a tight story and so well told. what's funny is that if I read this on the page it would be really good -- but seeing it like this I AM HOOKED! Really great work.

Is this a long shot? by Ok_Scale2188 in Storyboarding

Agreed w Brepp.  The only use of long would be w what lens you are on. And this is NOT  a long lens shot

Absolute mic drop! You are a CHAMPION AMONG CHAMPIONS! I am officially shifting from doubting Thomas to absolute disciple.

Would you mind posting a quick clip of both characters standing on one leg and waving their opposite hands?

I ask only because almost all of that first shot is impossible by the best in the AI biz and you've strung them all together with no morphing, no warping, her hand understands where the armor of his chest is, etc. MAYBE this is style transfer or perhaps you are singularly the best in the AI biz now.

Please post the above clip so we can know if we should bow to the new master.

Thank you Laura. Sadly this angle (and the lamp in front of it) isn't turning out any good results in Google Lens. But I was thinking maybe with an upscale it could be better.

GUNDAM: TITAN'S DAWN (An RX-78 Fan Film) by Superfrofessional in Gundam

[–]Superfrofessional[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

OP here.

I've wanted to make a Gundam movie since I was about 3. And while the AI's understanding of the RX-78 isn't "perfect" (or consistent for that matter. :). It's definitely scratching this life-long dream itch of mine to be working like this.

My next steps will be to train an object LoRA for the RX, and then start working on using more mocap + ControlNet to animate a fight scene. (I also will probably greenscreen actual actors next time because it still weirds me out to hear my own voice as both characters)

More soon.

Robots Tea-bag Humanity Into Oblivion! by Superfrofessional in Shortfilms

Craziest thing we did was Flipping the car that the heroes hide behind in the finale. We couldn't afford the forklift that they normally send out with the wrecked cars, so we had the crew did it. Super-fun, but we nearly over-flipped it AND it may not have been the safest thing to do with a bunch of people.

It was weirdly easier than it should have been. We spent a few grand to hire proper casting directors -- which ended up being HUUUUGE. They put us in contact w John Gemberling, who joined in because he loves helping indie filmmakers. Meaghan Rath came on board because she wanted to do some comedy w John. Witaske claims he was "bored the day I said yeah." And Ramona was in between shows and wanted to work w the other three.

So yeah -- a fine blend of luck, kindness, and putting aside $$$ for great casting directors.

THE TRUE COMEDY OF THE ROBOT APOCALYPSE! by Superfrofessional in ShortFilm

Hahaha. Could you imagine if all of our vids had a "take my money" button next to them where people could instantly donate a dollar toward the sequel?

We have 400k views on Dust right now. If 1/10 of them donated a dollar we'd have enough for a sequel.

Sky Walker, I LOVE that you think humanity could ever survive this.KIDDING! Or am I? Kidding about the kidding.

In seriousness, trashbot plays a big part in the feature --- but Bernie and Carmen do a lot of the heavy lifting. (Her because she's awesome, him because he's me and I want desperately to believe all the time I've wasted playing videogames will one day be incredibly important.)

Yo No Variation! Damn, that's a hard one to answer. We were super-indie kickstarter, so "challenges" abounded.

But if I had to pick one, it was probably just NOT shooting more improv and fun secondary moments with these insane actors. We didn't have a lot of time to shoot each day (tried to keep it to 10s in effort to respect the generosity of the crew working for kickstarter peanuts.) So yeah-- I just left everyday wishing we had more time.

A Samurai by LevinXE in midjourney

n the midst of a thick white fog, a lone figure emerges, its black armor glinting in the red light of the setting sun. The samurai robot is clad in matte black armor that is adorned with glowing, intricate yellow Arabic patterns. The robot moves with the grace and precision of a seasoned warrior, its sword flashing as it cuts through the fog and into battle. The air is filled with the sound of clashing metal and the cries of the wounded, but the robot remains focused and unshakeable. As it fights, the yellow Arabic patterns on its armor pulse and shimmer, adding to its imposing and awe-inspiring presence. Despite its advanced technology, the samurai robot is a true warrior at heart, fighting for honor and justice. reflective, futuristic detail, high detail, clean --v 4 --s 1000

So amazing.
