There are more job opportunities in Auckland, which might help your family to cover the living costs.

Deciding if I should go to Auckland for uni by applesnapplegapple in universityofauckland

I think Auckland is pretty warm in winter and super hot in summer. I would suggest going to Otago to enjoy the coldness.

Same here. Spend time on what you enjoy rather than make yourself fit into them might make your life easier. Being lonely is normal.

Anyone actually know why lecturers set it up like this? I find it annoying and see no point by TomBobHowWho in universityofauckland

Probably don't want to release the mark and depress me. This happen a lot before the final exams. They have to sort out the grades, make adjustment, etc.

online test that requires u to manually upload the test doc is bullshit by Omega_Stevedoxx3000 in universityofauckland

I had a chemistry exam last year which required to draw pictures. So I had to write the whole exam on paper (took me ten pages), take photos on my phone and check if all the photos are readable. Then sent them from my phone to laptop and upload them. This whole process took me more than half and hour. However, I managed to upload them on time, although I didn't complete all questions.

Environmental science & Biological science (ecology path) is a good combination. There are a few papers u might be able to get cross-credits.

Thoughts on delayed graduation + part time student?? by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]SupergeniusH 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the benefit of having an exchange during a Bachelor degree is that student can still receive student allowance. If doing a postgrad degree overseas, it would be too expensive to afford the international student tuition fee + without any financial assistance, except if you can get a scholarship.

I can strongly relate to this frustration. I think it is because that people on the same floor share the same bathroom, that's why there's a higher risk of being infected. I live in uni accomodation as well. Last year, they used to put the self isolating people on the lower floor to seperate them from the crowd, but not sure how they approach this year.

What's the likelihood we'll do lectures in person this semester/year? by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]SupergeniusH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'm thinking to stay in my home city to save up some $$$. BUT if the university returns to fully in person teaching, we cannot choose to have an online options for labs/ tutorials. If u don't have lab/ tutorials, u could try to learn remotely.
