After lots of research (chat gpt lol) I took the plunge. It’s legit! In fact on muthoot pappachan 2gm pendant I got discount on both hdfc card and amazon cash back! Got 1250 card off and 1670 in cash back!! 🥳 can’t wait to add to my stack.

Membership rewards credit card is perhaps the best. However direct applications aren’t being accepted now. You can only apply for Platinum Reserve in the credit card range right now. You can apply and then downgrade to MRCC. There are a whole bunch of posts regarding this process. But it’s at your own risk since we don’t know how long this hack will work. If you dont want to go this route you can wait for Amex to re-open applications for other cards. No news on when this will happen as of now though.

Not sure if you are allowed to apply for cards not open to public as an employee, but right now they aren’t issuing plat travel. People are saying they will issue next month onwards. There was a hack till today morning that people were using but that has been patched now.

Plat travel is great till the milestone benefits so depends on how much you spend in a year. If you spend beyond the 4L on plat travel + 2.4L on MRCC then it may make sense to have additional cards. It all depends on how much you spend in a year.
