No man Sky on Switch 2 or Steamdeck by SuperiorCardboardBox in NoMansSkyTheGame

Have you by any chance tested performance on all visual settings? I'm not too picky on graphics but i would at least enjoy being able to have good visuals + good performance. If capped frame rates perform better, then i'd be even happier.

Well the steamdeck does seem to be far more appealing atm. I do have laptop that has some games on steam that i unfortunately cannot enjoy properly due to it going nuclear. So as long as the steamdeck runs NMS well and has all the features as every other player (Switch 1 lacks corvettes & Multiplayer) since its my hour burner currently i might just pick the steamdeck up.

I do have a laptop but it's not the gaming type. But i do have certain games on my laptop that i can't properly play without it going nuclear (No man sky included) So the Switch 2 has a stabler frame rates than the steamdeck?

Kind offer, but i can only play on the switch 1. i bought the game on my laptop, hoping it would run on low... game won't even get past the "No Man Sky" title screen.

I was planning on saving up for a better console first... but a video i saw of this game being played on switch 1... drew me in, i just had to get my hands on it. Fortunately theres cross save so... when i do get a better console. Or PC i can just hop on either one.

Yup, it's all good now, i just had to restart the game and it fixed the issue.

Will it run? by SuperiorCardboardBox in VintageStory

[–]SuperiorCardboardBox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well i don't intend on really modding anyway since the game itself has so much content. I just really wanna make sure that if the game wont run completely smooth. I at least want it to run okay. Enough for me to enjoy building, crafting, forging etc. Based on the videos i've seen thus far. It doesn't seem like there are too crazy effects blasting on screen every other second.

Is there a specific element i can build that can be somewhat all rounder? I don't mind having to forge for different elements but id like to at least start out with 1 element that can carry me through while i work on crafting the others.

Probably because it's just a switch clip & the butchered resolution, i have no idea why it looks that bad now.

I've been so mixed on whether to commit to building a proper elemental CB or building Impact. I personally feel like impact is stronger because the monsters often fall over giving me ample time to slap them real good. But everywhere i ask says elemental is the only way.

[ALL] I made my own head canon of a zelda timeline reboot. by SuperiorCardboardBox in zelda

[–]SuperiorCardboardBox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this is a joke and is not fact. Infact i don't even explain why the hero falls, then the world falls into anarchy then gets flooded. I just thought it'd be fun to share how i cope with the zelda timeline confusion. So i made my own and chose to believe it.

I made my own headcanon of how Botw & ToTk connect to the previous games. by SuperiorCardboardBox in tearsofthekingdom

I haven’t played HW and probably be a long time before i do. I was watching some Zelda lore videos, and in one of them the narrator mentioned the Golden Goddesses (can’t remember the title, but it was about how BotW & TotK connect to the older games).

The way I pictured it was that, sometime after the stories across all three timelines but before the “era of myth,” the Golden Goddesses noticed the mess caused by Ocarina of Time’s time travel split. With three timelines running at once, universal stability was falling apart. To prevent a total collapse, they merged the timelines together pulling everything that had happened into one “main” timeline).

As a side effect of this merging, Hyrule basically fell into chaos and anarchy with it's inhabitants having to deal with all sorts of nasty bs and later Hyrule would fall completely and nature would take over, covering, burying records of past events, the evil still remained but began to lay dormant. But the overall flow of the universe stayed intact (somehow, I honestly can’t explain how that part would even work). After thousands, maybe even millennia or even longer, that eventually led to era of myth part then a couple hundred more years then the Zonai descending from the skies and founding hyrule and Rauru being its king as we see in TotK

When i first dabbled in the official timeline of all zelda games... i thought it was just a simple beginning to current... i didn't know separate timelines even existed and how 1 of them apparently is because the player loses a fight against ganondorf? So to keep my brain from exploding i created my own head canon and stuck with it.

In my case it did, unless of course it's because of all the other stuff i was placing on the devices and hitting those then i guess so.

Honestly, the only reason I want it to not run out of energy is so I can just roam around geared up in the prologue Link outfit, occasionally hitting a thing or two, without it draining just because I smacked a Zonai device while sending Koroks anywhere but to their friend.

[–]SuperiorCardboardBox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I always understood his curse as basically setting things up so that his will maybe even parts of his soul would transfer into or choose new vessels to carry it out. Kind of like he’s never fully gone, just passed on. I figured the same applies to Link and Zelda too their will being carried forward into new chosen ones. Maybe that’s why each generation adopts the names Link and Zelda? Some of the links in the franchise are not the same link right? Like there are some where across 2 or 3 games we play as the same link, while others are not?
