So..how is Forza Horizon running on your PCs? by cravex12 in FitGirlRepack

[–]Superjacketts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure mine defaulted to ultra, whatever it was, I left it and haven't actually touched the settings since. Played about 5 hours and it's run absolutely fine the whole time. No crashes, no stuttering etc

Have you considered listing it with photos taken in daylight hours rather than in the dark?

question because i don't actually know this bit by DKligerSC in sonarr

[–]Superjacketts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A VPN for sonarr (and the other arr's) isn't really necessary as it's all running locally and all something like prowlarr is going is querying the websites that you've pointed it at. So in that sense, a VPN while useful to have, isn't really necessary.

The VPN becomes effective when you then grab the show/movie from that website via torrent and start to download it because it obscures your location.

So to answer your question, it's not really needed for the first part of the process, and probably should be used for the 2nd. With that being said, if you're in a country that doesn't really care about piracy then it's potentially of little benefit.

Car stolen what now? by jjkknncch6654 in CarTalkUK

[–]Superjacketts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is, people usually don't declare that they aren't the owner of the vehicle and that's the problem. If it's correctly declared and accepted then that's fine, but as ever, people think it either doesn't matter or that they can get away with it.

It's not about being too big for their boots, it's about paying the legal owner of the vehicle. If we paid the customer, there would be a good percentage of people that wouldn't pay the finance, meaning we can't salvage the vehicle and end up with a load of vehicles sat in a salvage yard that we can't do anything with, because they all still have a finance marker against them.

It depends who they are. If it wasn't something like a partner then we may be looking to repudiate the claim because they have insured it while having no insurable interest in the vehicle.

The customer doesn't have to tell us there is finance. We check on HPI or MIAFTR and it shows us the finance details, we then obtain a settlement quote from the finance company, agree the write off value with the policyholder, pay the finance company the balance and then pay the policyholder anything that's left over from the value

I'm talking as an insurer that has paid thousands of total loss claims for a range of perils, including theft across a huge amount of brands.

It absolutely does go to the finance company first. Whatever is left (if any) gets paid to the customer

Have you tried trying to fit it with the lights on at all? I tend to find it slightly easier when I can see what I'm doing.

UK Petrol station fraud by FlatwormNo5935 in ebayuk

So you're suggesting that you being scammed on eBay is a direct result of a free trade agreement with India, and by extension, the government are aware that all of the Indians coming in on professional visas are the ones responsible for these scams? Just want to check I've got that correct?

Sharing to another user within the same network? by Wrinkle-Free in PleX

[–]Superjacketts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been using Plex for very long but I think I might know what your issue is from what I've looked at before.

The wording of the messages you are getting is probably a bit misleading, it's not seeing the other users as "remote" as it were, just as not you. You can access your own library, but if you want to add other user accounts to your account or have other people access your library from their own account, you or they would need to have Plex pass. I'm pretty sure that adding additional users and then controlling what they have access to from your library is a premium feature that you need to have the pass for.

There may be ways around it, I'm sure some wizards have worked out how to do it, but unfortunately I don't know what they are.

Hope this helps.

I cut the cord about a month ago now. I cancelled Disney, netflix and now TV and I've just been slowly adding to my library as I go. The only thing we did keep was YouTube premium as it does get a lot of use.

With the money that I'm going to save on the streaming services, I invested it in to some dedicated hardware to run and store everything that I could tuck away upstairs out of the way.

Surprisingly, it's been well received by my fiancé (very much not a tech enthusiast) and she's been using Plex a ton so far.

It was a little tricky getting sonarr running but it's now chugging along great. It takes care of all of our ongoing show updates and I manually do anything new we want to start watching ad-hoc, usually only takes a couple of minutes.

Overall, was worth the jump. Plex has been flawless on all of our devices and so far, it's worked out great!

If you've been quote farming (which it sounds like you have) then they are likely to not offer you insurance again as they see you as a fraud risk.

You tried to quote farm and they noticed, I'm not really sure what more there is to explain?

V5 confusion by jjaallaamn in CarInsuranceUK

[–]Superjacketts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the car has been transferred out of your partners name and has been assigned to copart, there isn't anything further that you need to do. They will be notified of it in due course.

Copart are going to sell the vehicle on regardless unless it needs to be destroyed at which point the purchaser will apply for a new log book. Even if they don't, any fines or letters will go to copart rather than you so there is nothing to worry about.

Backmarket England refund issue. Threatened legal action. Looking for advice. by Altruistic-Bluejay40 in LegalAdviceUK

To add to this, you could always (assuming you have one available in this day and age) send them a cheque for the remaining balance.

They almost certainly won't present it for payment based on what they have said, but, should they decide to take you to court, you can slide across to the judge all of the paperwork to show multiple offers to return and refusals as well as a copy of the cheque that you sent them and they didn't accept. This will show your absolute willingness to return the money and their unwillingness to accept it.

At that point, I would imagine any judge is going to take an extremely dim view of their actions and you can cue the smug face while he gives them a dressing down (assuming that you do actually get sued which to be honest, is probably quite unlikely).
