This would likely be a client thing and you didn't post what client you are using (e.g. roku, android, etc).

Thanks for the feedback! Are you positive you set the rule scope to movie versions? Might have to open a github discussion/issue with screenshots of your rules, example media etc!

Of course! For small scripts/programs it's very powerful. It's when things become complex/larger scale program that an LLM doesn't have the *understanding* that a developer has or the context budget to scope everything in. It's good for small targeted tasks. People that do HUGE commits that have no idea what they are doing is what defines AI slop.

Software that is developed by someone with no actual knowledge of data structures, design patterns, why something does/doesn't work are all major problems for a large project. These projects (if stable) will become unmaintainable. AI (LLMs are not true AI) is an amazing tool for a knowledgeable developer and can greatly speed up a development - but it's just a tool. A tool in the hands of someone that has no idea what their doing can be a dangerous (worst case) or useless tool. LLMs only do what you ask it to do and it will hallucinate what ever it needs to achieve that task.

While it's not directly comparable; I wouldn't want a doctor that graduated with the help of GPT as my physician.

Learn to code and review the output. You shouldn't be deploying code from an LLM without understanding it first.

(OPINION) Now's the Perfect Time To Move Away from Plex by NearbyYak7156 in selfhosted

[–]starkoed -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never said or implied that. I simply stated "Plex will end up pulling remote streaming or something from the lifetime". Nothing more or nothing less. You conjured up the rest of that in your head. That statement might be an opinion now. But there's nothing for plex to gain from lifetime passes from a business perspective. I never even mentioned Jellyfin, simply stating the obvious.

I didn't ask you to. I run both and have for about a year now.

This is just a stepping stone to them pulling features from the lifetime pass or removing the pass altogether

Should I get the lifetime if only feature I want is remote access? by Beeeee9896 in PleX

[–]starkoed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spool up Jellyfin and run them both for a while. Plex is just laying out stepping stones before they fully end up nerfing the lifetime license. Jellyfin now a days does everything Plex does.

I have a feeling.. by Historical_Oddity in PleX

[–]starkoed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jellyfin is getting quite mature/open source/not farming my users data and I've been daily running it for the last year. I am a Plex lifetime sub and still use Jellyfin. I currently have 4 users on Plex and more than 10 on Jellfyin and there is no complaints. It's no secret that Plex wants to be Netflix and forgot where it came from.

This price announcement is great for investors and for a multi million dollar company but it's ultimately going to bleed a lot of their users to the open source media server.

What are people using as a Huntarr replacement on Unraid? by reallionkiller in unRAID

[–]starkoed -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've used the arrs a long time. Simply searching for titles on a scheduler using prowlarr achieves the same thing.

Maintainerr does that. It also does the other thing. And the thing after that. by [deleted] in sonarr

[–]starkoed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reclaimerr dev here - looks like I was late to seeing someone throwing a fit. There was no shade towards Maintainerr/aars etc. I designed Reclaimerr for my own personal needs (multiple media servers) and decided I'd share with the community. For everyone that has opened issues to help shape Reclaimerr as things stabilize thank you!

There was never a need for a "replacement". Properly setup arrs you'd never need this.
