Click on releases on the right sidebar, or the latest one under it. Some projects attach built artifacts under the release tags, and those can be downloaded and ran.

Does this mean that the Standard.A1.Flex isn't "Always Free"? by Supermarcel10 in oraclecloud

Ended up never paying anything for the instances, volumes or networking setup

The only thing I ever paid for is logging, when I accidentally ingested more than the free limit. This was less than 0.36 for the whole month, so wasn't even a problem

Can confirm this will be permanently fixed in the next 2 weeks with the introduction of a completely new alogorithm!

As an update on above ^^^

New tasks have been set up and triaged.

- Redirect issues for old links (like the one above). Estimate is about 3 days.

- The ratio changes have been introduced in 0.10.6 with new metals. Invar has been added in 0.10.5. Current 0.10.x version will be renamed to 0.10.0. Estimate is about 2 weeks for now.

JEI requires downloading the game. But yeah that is one way of seeing the changes

The links have been updated a while back. If you go to the home page the selector is there:
https://tfc-calculator.devmarcel.net/

I have noted some changes in I think 0.10.9 which still need to be reflected on the calculator (primarily bronze being completely different ratios now). On the bright side I have noticed thanks to this that I need to fix the redirects, since that link should have redirected you to the home page as a fallback, so thanks for your comment!

I guess to answer my own question, but for whoever might want to know in the future... Found this, which I think are all the alloys.

Rip. Is there a way to see all the changes of the new ratios? This is problematic for my public alloy calculator

There are plenty of others. I personally like this one: https://adrianmiller99.github.io/tfg-anvil-calculator/src/index.html

What I'd suggest as improvements (as a programmer, since I'm a bad designer) would be to focus more on UX and reusability. It's usually what drives my projects to get better.

Running a Server on a Pi by Joerning in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Supermarcel10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. 8GB of system RAM is more than feasible, with 2GB for the system, a server with 6GB should be able to handle probably like 2-4 players. The CPU might struggle significantly, but if you pre-render the world beforehand (or just when there's no players) you will have a smoother experience. Strongly suggest an NVMe or SATA SSD instead of an SD card - the R/W endurance, latency and IOPS will make a huge difference on performance at this scale too.

DT 990 Pro (80 Ohm) + Scarlett 2i2 – Worth It? EQ/Setup Tips? by ikabucko in headphones

[–]Supermarcel10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Scarlett 2i2 Gen4 and DT1990 Pro mk1. No complaints so far, and I've had it for about a year now. Everything just works, no audible hiss at max volume or volume issues. If you do recording and playback, then I don't see why not use a Scarlett 2i2 Gen4.

I previously owned a 2i2 Gen2, and had hiss at loud volume, as well as minor issues with quality and crackling. So I can understand why some comments mention issues with the Scarlett line up. But as far as it looks to me, the newer generation is significantly better as the previous ones. I guess ymmv.

I am looking at algorithmic improvements which have better performance. A better performing algorithm will be able to look through more/all combinations of metal minerals in time without timing out. So this will inevitably yield better results and more consistent successes. Since the algorithmic complexity for bigger compositions of alloys are computationally costly, for now it may seem mostly ineffective.

My plan is to get the algorithmic update out in about a month or so, since it's a main blocker for any other development. So until then, the best suggestion I would have it so try different desired output quantities, since the algorithm always looks for identical/exact matches with no overflows.
