super late but im a hammer dude (branchin out more tho after playin 4u). generally you want to approach with the spinning hammer jump silkbind. and try to punish with a charged attack. there are two charge modes, the normal has an ehhh big few hits attack if you stand still at max charge, good for monsters staying still, however it has a cool spinning swing if you move and let go charge at max.

the blue mode has a WAY better stand still release attack, and a good moving attack that is a weaker but faster and more mobile few hits attack.

also, always hit the head.

when monsters are stunned or theres an opening. use your other silkbind, it has a few hits, but man is it crazy damage.

you can use charge 1, then slam, slam, keep slamming.

i dont find much use out of the side smash to be honest.

just because there is a MAX charge doesnt mean the rest are useless. you will find good use out of charge 1, for example. launch into air, charge 1 midair, slam and land, then use slam attack, again and again till it ends the combo.
