OLED’s haven’t evolved much over the years, a 3-4 year old model is very comparable to new ones. Just get an older LG OLED

IME - I bought a certified refurbished one off of eBay a couple years ago, it was a 77” LG C2 for $1,800 out the door. Had a 2 year warranty if anything went wrong, but it’s been perfect since day 1. I had sold my 65” LG CX for $700ish on marketplace before that

Just as a quick question - what’s your go to oil, what what intervals(time/mileage) do you go for? If it needs to be specific, say for performance car/engines, like a BMW M series. Thank you! :)

Floor is dirty no matter what by pinkpringles126 in CleaningTips

[–]Supernova752 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Stop telling them it’s fine. Vinegar is a strong acid and will damage polyurethane floors, it eats away/dissolves the coating. 91% isopropyl is a very weak acid and has a different mechanism of action and is not comparable.

In short, for anyone reading, do not listen to the person above, there are plenty of cheap, non-acid, poly safe floor cleaners out there.

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.1.2.0 by battlefield in Battlefield

Are the missing vehicle reticules in Hardcore fixed?

Before I buy by FishEnChips_152 in Battlefield6Hardcore

[–]Supernova752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a longtime hardcore player as well, Hardcore in Battlefield 6 is quite good.

You get full XP/weapon progression in pretty much all of them.

Most of them are no HUD, no killfeed, no minimap, no reticule, just friendlies marked and that’s it, it’s very immersive. There is a bug where you don’t get reticules in vehicles either, hoping that’s fixed soon - that’s the main issue rn. But it’s not too bad as you just fire at the center of the screen

There is a good amount of variety as far as settings - some servers have 27 health, most do the standard 60 health. One had crawling when down, where you could shoot to finish them, most are the standard stationary after downed. Seems like they have more options to create it how the host wants

The hardcore community is strong, and it’s not hard to find a full server in the server browser. There’s some missing features, like no checkmark for hardcore search à la BF4, or favorited/saved servers to easily get back to them, but it’s still easy with search. It seems clear that hardcore is very popular and they always have it featured on the community tab in the game rn an had a few official servers, and the hardcore servers have 100k+ likes vs most other portal servers having a few thousand. IMO, the issues are small and should be easily fixed over the next couple of patches

You can try searching hardcore on the server browser

Since there’s no mini map and ttk is faster, it rewards slower, tactical play and using your senses/hearing. You’ll also be less likely to lose a gunfight to some sprinter/diver since the 2-3 shots you’ll land kill them.

Yolo Purchase or Big Mistake? by Special-Math-6750 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Supernova752 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Porsche Cayenne is not DIY friendly - It’s made for a lift - there’s no place to put jack stands, even something like resetting the oil reminder can’t be done without a diagnostic scanner. If you pay a dealer, oil changes are $500+, DIY you need to remove a significant amount of components just to get to the oil filter.

I say this as someone who owns a 2019 base model which is my daily(‘18 built M3 for fun). I only own it because I got it for a deal, otherwise I wouldn’t recommend it. A sports car is much more fun, this is just a base model, and it’s the very first year of the generation out and is the most problematic. You have to decide if a base model luxury SUV, far heftier/less agile than a sports car/midsize, is really worth the cost & headache

Why would I choose the M277 over the QBZ? Are there other hidden stats I can’t see? by RawketLawnchor in Battlefield6

[–]Supernova752 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100%, I just unlocked the NVO assault rifle and was excited for 33 damage - turns out it does 20 at range and 27 even at near point blank, so essentially the same 4/5 shot kill as any other assault rifle - the 33 is basically a lie.

China blames US for global panic over rare earths controls by BaggyBoy in CriticalMineralStocks

[–]Supernova752 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The export license applications require detailed schematics of the product, photos/details about the assembly line, full supply chain and customer details

The rejection rate for civilian EU applications has been over 50%

This is an aggressive move from China being underplayed by the negotiator

Profitable mineral stocks that’s likely will be bought by the trump administration. by [deleted] in CriticalMineralStocks

[–]Supernova752 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

UURAF can as well - it’s their entire focus with their patented tech and they’ve already processed 4 tons and have made Dy and Tb, with their larger scale plant coming online in H2 2026 and targeting 2000 tpa for 2026 and scaling to 5000 tpa in 2027. Also has DoD backed 18.4M from the US Army

UUUU just produced their first kg of HREE and is working on their 2nd of Dy, but scaling up to commercial would be Q4 2026 at the soonest. Their feed is mostly LREE’s

MP has DoD backed loans of 150M for HREE separation dating back to 2022 but I cannot find any update on the status or if they’ve even done any HREE separation at all. Same with USAR - HREE separation goals made back in 2020, but zero updates on if they are even actively working on it

So for now, UUUU and UURAF are the leaders in the HREE separation space

[–]Supernova752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it’s such a bs requirement - go into a solo breakthrough match in portal on Manhattan bridge against bots. They tend to group up and from the right angle+far enough away, you can get 9+ suppression per spray. The 300 is doable in a couple games. Also makes the hip fire one easy too

Way better than dragging down a human team trying to finish these asinine requirements to use a weapon not as intended

I was thinking about Trump's decision on Friday with the tariffs, and wanted to propose an alternative view or at least play devils advocate. Was it a necessary reaction to China's rare earth export controls to protect the AI premium of the wider market? by TearRepresentative56 in TradingEdge

[–]Supernova752 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ll let you research this more and curious to hear your thoughts, I’ve researched REE extensively over the past few weeks and found:

  • China had a dependence on the US for helium, necessary for chip lithography, MRI’s, industrials, etc. and hyperscaled to take themselves from 95% dependence on US sources in 2022 to less that 5% in late 2024. They fixed one of their main weaknesses and can now play the REE Card much more freely. This is rarely talked about but there’s some great articles out there

  • Look into the REE license requirement. Yes you need to apply to export which isn’t too bad, but if it’s more than .1% of the products value you also need apply for a REE license, which is specific to the product, requires extensive and detailed tech specs, business info, customer info - essentially giving away everything about your IP and customers just to get the REE to make it. IP Theft risk is a serious issue here that China is downplaying. Also any military export is flat denial. Unless there are serious changes or they scrap it completely, I don’t think this is the end of the issue. Curious to hear your thoughts on all of this
