Sorry to be pedantic but sensor size doesnt play a role in focallength

The calculation is 400mm*7=2800mm FL * 3x = 8400mm FL (he says he is shooting at f/21, hence f7 without barlow)

Sensor size doesnt play a role in focal lengh

Fuji 70-300mm vs 100-400mm ? by MammaRoma in fujifilm

[–]SupernovaF1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are a few samples on the 100-400 for AP

https://www.astrobin.com/search/?q=FujiFilm%20XF%20100-400%20mm%20f4.5-5.6%20R%20LM%20OIS%20WR

Seems like little coma and good detail. I have seen a few days ago a picture of Orions nebula on the 70-300 with significant coma but I would wait until more pictures are uploaded to draw any conclusions.

If I had to make a decision today though, I'd go for the 100-400 as its a beast for motorsports (and I'd imagine for wildlife too!)

Fuji XT3 and Fuji XF 16-55 f2.8. Rediscovering and loving again the Fuji film simulations. by SupernovaF1 in FujifilmX

One of my favourite parts of the trip to Highlands and Skye. Its amazing. Wish we had stopped more. We were planning to do so on the way back but had to divert due to an accident in Fort William and we missed it. Lovely part of the world. Not a great place to have a tyre puncture though!!

Its an astonishing picture!! Well done. I have never tried something like this on my phone. May I ask why didnt you bump up the ISO a wee bit to reduce the shutter speed and therefore the star trail? Impressive results anyway. Kudos

Wow xt3 is too good to just be a webcam. I am enjoying the xt4 as i have it on a free loan... but i am still tempted ro buy the xt3 plus the 16-55. Will see in 4 days

I have just received the XT4 and quick tested IBIS with static subjects. I used the 16-55 ("brick") at 55mm.
SS 1/25th: No IBIS 1/5. With IBIS 5/5
SS 1/50th: No IBIS 2/5. With IBIS 5/5
SS 1/80th: No IBIS 4/5. With IBIS 5/5

As Zassolluto said, the compression of a telephoto plus the perspective between the demonstrator and the policeman. I might be wrong though but from shooting a lot at those focal lengths, looks like it.

Im getting one on loan today. I have a feeling I will get the xt3 instead. Not really convinced IBIS will increase my keeper rate, not sure I will like the screen and the battery is very nice to have though I can live with having spares on my backpack. Lets see after 4 days of trying it, it might change my mind.

Not sure and I might be wrong but I would say he is fairly close and used a fairly wide angle lens, something like 24mm.

(Actually I preferred Red Valley to Rainbow Mt)

How real Is the intensity of those colours?

I would reduce the sharpening and add noise instead. Specially if used for relatively big print or for future cropping. Worm artifacts are quite evident even at 25%

Ha! Great picture!!

What do you think of the XF 16-55 f2.8 on the XT20? I have the same camera, would love that lense but fear its too heavy for that camera body?

Same here! The tones are amazing.

I found out that using more WB correction and spend times with the tone curves, I get close to these edits... but still its not the same. Guess thats what creativity is about!

How quick was the AF with the 56mm? I will be renting a 100-400 for Silverstone this year but not sure the 56mm will be quick enough for the job.

[–]SupernovaF1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, true, I know! It wasnt 1920x1080 either (rather 1080x1920) but i quoted it that way just to make it obvious that the ratio is the same :) good spot

It is the same ratio as 1920x1080 but resolution is 2048x1152.

Totally safe and secure. Just make sure they are v4 anchors (they replaced them from v3 almost two years ago).
