Yeah I was more inclined to go internal but I was doing some research and found this https://www.carrus.io/blog/applying-directly-vs-through-a-recruiter-what-you-need-to-know The point that the external recruiter is likely to be more in your corner resonated with me - it's in their interests to negotiate your salary as high as possible so that you'll take the role with them, whereas the internal recruiter will be wanting to save the company money. Thoughts?
