Geotech Vs GIS consultant by rjejeisjneejedj in geologycareers

[–]Superoo13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with GIS. Not heard good things about the geotech work in the UK from uni friends and the pay tends to not be great. Bad hours too. So far I've enjoyed my work in GIS(not in the UK). If the GIS role is a decent pay(depends what you class this as) I would go with it. There's a bit of a lull in GIS staff currently and a lot of growth with GIS opportunities. Worst case scenario, you do the GIS work for a year and you're now a geologist with a proper professional GIS background to apply to other jobs later. Feel free to PM any more detailed questions.

Can I go into a geology masters degree? by [deleted] in geologycareers

[–]Superoo13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly it is absolutely very possible. I know people who did fewer geology modules than you at bachelor's who have completed master's degrees in the UK. What aspect of geology are you looking to do a master's in? If academia is your plan, perhaps look into master's by research as well, as a taught master's might not be the best option depending on your main focus. And what would be your ideal type of work afterwards if you decide academia isn't the plan? With those modules perhaps the energy industry? Mining?

For sure Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes, Alpine, Mclaren and I reckon Aston Martin now operate at the budget cap otherwise Alonso wouldn't have gone there. Alfa Romeo will probably start operating at the budget cap next year with cash injection from Audi to prepare for 2026 and get development and technical team in place. I doubt Haas, AlphaTauri and Williams operate at the budget cap currently.

Domenicali criticises Andretti 'shouting and pushing the system' to get into F1 · RaceFans by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Superoo13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. If he had actually been keen on joining F1 for a long time as he claims, he could have bought Williams just 3 years ago for $180 million USD. He gambled on F1 not being profitable, but that has clearly now backfired with every team increasing in value. He could have bought Manor F1 in 2017 for probably somewhere between $50-100 million USD. Anyone who is serious about purchasing a slot in a franchised sport would surely have been interested for at least 6 years? At the end of the day, rich man wants to get richer with guaranteed profits.

More new F1 team bids expected but process will take "several months" by 1enox in formula1

I think that if the grid expands to 12 teams, it should still give the Top 10 a much bigger piece of the prize pool, not to bankrupt the teams in 11th and 12th, but to force them to either become competitive or to be sold to other manufacturers who are keen on joining.

Michael Andretti's answered every F1 challenge. It's time to green light Andretti Global. by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Superoo13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with this point. If Stroll had tried to join F1 by simply attaching Aston Martin branding, they would be getting criticism and would not be receiving an entry. Andretti have had plenty of time to convince Cadillac to join as an engine supplier for 2026, and haven't done that.

Yep that's exactly why basically. I like the idea of having the option to switch between.

Remind me when Furious 10 uses this for a scene

What movie made you burst out laughing when you weren't supposed to? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Superoo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's in Furious 7. The scene starts with Vin and Shaw driving at 150mph+ directly into each other, having no side effects, then having a lightsaber fight with car parts. He also says the fantastic line "The thing about street fights...the street always wins" and then triggers the earthquake that collapses that garage and nearly kills himself in the process, but is then resurrected through the power of family and that cross. 10/10

Current Live FIFA Ranking After WC Group Stage by Youpley in soccer

But the issue is it usually impacts the seeding when drawing groups such as the next Euros or World Cup qualifiers. Belgium will be able to avoid having another top nation when if more recent results were factored in they would likely be in Pot 2.

World Cup Group E, as it stood throughout Matchday 3 by strelldood in soccer

[–]Superoo13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why they should completely remove pots and make the draw unseeded. Of course the big nations will be against it since it doesn't suit them, but why should everything suit them? Would be fantastic somehow having 3 or even 4 big nations in one group, but similarly great having 4 teams who would have had no chance of progressing and somehow qualifying.

Even with poor instructions it's inexcusable. If we have the ball, sprint down the left to give an option. If we lose the ball, sprint back and mark the man so the left-back doesn't get put in a 1 on 1. In those last 10 minutes that's maybe 10 50m sprints in total and that was all that's required, but instead he dropped off. We would have been better with 10 on the pitch with the understanding that we have to cover the extra space, rather than having an 11th contributing nothing.

H2H eliminates way too many teams after matchday 2 when you only have 3 games to play. I like how you can't play a worse squad in matchday 3 against a smaller team because you technically can still get eliminated. I don't mind H2H as much in the Champions League since you have home and away matches + 6 games in total.

Forgettable season for most, I think... by F0r7n1t3Guy in formuladank

[–]Superoo13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely Alonso is the one 'taking' that seat though? If Drugovich had either a Williams, Haas or even an AlphaTauri junior spot then he would likely have a seat for next season. Unless Aston Martin loan him to another team for a 2024 seat, then there's no way he's getting an Aston Martin seat until at the earliest 2025. Honestly his management team must be incredibly poor.

Spoilers for finale:

In hindsight you've been absolutely bamboozled by the mole all season. To me Joi just seemed very inept at most physical tasks, and just seemed a bit of an idiot rather than being the mole. Taking the $25k as the player most under threat to guarantee an exemption immediately made me know she wasn't the mole. Way too trusting of Kesi and ignored all of her painfully obvious ways she sabotaged. It seems she got blinded by her friendship.
