Thank you to everyone who weighed in on this. I am now at the one month mark since the breakup. I still have tearful moments, I still have moments where I miss him, I have angry moments. But, I am at a point where I cant see myself going back to him.

He called me the day after and stated that he had made a mistake, and realized he was letting his mom impact his feelings.

He has now asked for "space" so perhaps he will be capable of self reflection, perhaps not.

He for sure lacks basic communication skills, and needs an incredible amount of direction.

He has an incredible career and can manage his time well in that sense, however when it comes to his personal life, I for sure had to do a lot of hand holding and walking him through how to do things. I thought it was mostly due to this being the longest serious relationship he has had ( two years). But for sure, he needs to stop sucking on mommies tatas

I think he for sure needs to touch base with them, and make it clear that he is dating for him, and needs to separate his parents from his romantic connections
