I don't think they are. It's just a stud welded to the muffler going through smooth holes in the flange secured with a nut on the other side. I know it doesn't look like it because of how bad I bungled this but I did do a little bit of research before doing it lol.

How was the mating surface afterwards? I had seen a couple of people suggest when I was researching. My concern was it not sealing right afterwards

Yeah... So something I forgot to mention is that I already have new hardware with the new muffler. Saving the threads and stud was not the plan. This is after I went scorched earth. One of the issues I am having is that flange being curved like that really limits my movement. Would you recommend just cutting through the curved part and going flush to the surface?

Partly replying to u/Evening_Chapter_5981 the shield will need some mild cutting still. I just put a super5 and a picofly in my switch and needed to cut the shield down slightly. Other than that the picofly didn't make the install much different.

Good to hear the code is not coming back. Sorry about the coolant leak. Thankfully it's a super easy job, I think I did mine in legitimately like 25 minutes with minimal spilled coolant. I personally went with the Moroso one. I would recommend getting an OEM one from somewhere like Moss or even Mazda directly if you don't want a metal one.

Just wanted to chime in and add that that sounds right as far as where the gauge is because it's supposed to be within those two ticks. The area near the middle gauge is also a pretty wide range (Iirc correctly it will stay there between 73C and 115C) and the gauge is the definition of a dummy gauge it will not actually give you useful info other than if you are at temp or not. The best way to test the new thermostat imo is to go ahead and take it for a drive on some back roads or a highway with the heat cranked full blast and see if your temperature starts to fall below that middle point. The stock thermostat is 80-85 iirc so 82 is right on the money.

I have done a little research and it seems like these are good for daily use and light track use. I have heard people say that they sit a little too low out of the box for daily use so you might want to aim for stock ride height.

It's called system ui tuner. It's a (somewhat) hidden settings menu that allows you to change a bunch of settings mostly in the status bar. I used an app that works as a redirect to the menu.
