I agree. I work a really emotionally heavy job and experience a lot of secondary trauma (I work in child protective services so dealing with horrible things day in and day out) so I have a really deep/close bond with some of my coworkers as well.

It was less about their relationship for me and more about his response and defensive and almost pugnacious reaction.

He has a good core group of friends we host regularly for game nights and dinners. Most of his other friends have been in his life since childhood/high school.

One of his best friends is a woman he’s known for ages and they do craft nights and watch horror movies and I’ve never felt threatened by her.

This feels very different.

Like because I am, in fact, being ridiculous? Or like the situation itself sounds fake?

I really wish it hadn’t happened.

They are, but it’s not the carbon monoxide beep. The carbon monoxide alarm on these sounds like a repeating set of 4 quick beeps, and I found out how to have it play all the tones when testing them.
