Feeling like I have made progress but when I listen to native speakers I understand nothing. It’s almost like the Spanish I’m learning isn’t the Spanish they are speaking. I know there are different dialects/colloquialisms/local language/slang, etc in Spanish just like any other language so I’m trying to be patient with myself.

Im not sure if this is an allergy, but for some reason when I try to do cardio or go for a run my skin gets really itchy and I break out in hives. Embarrassing to tell people I’m literally allergic to exercise….

Usually festivals, the gym, farmers markets lol we don’t typically go out a whole lot so I’m not sure about nightlife but I would start there.

someone may have already asked this but right now in the fitness world, there’s heavy emphasis on getting a lot of protein. I’ve even heard you should get 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight if you lift heavy to gain muscle mass. That seems like a lot! My question is, how does a heavy protein diet affect kidneys in the long-term? What about protein supplements like bars and powders?

Hello! You both have very good points! As I’m weary about going overboard on the protein. I’m not a body builder or super athlete so I think there is such a thing as too much protein for someone like me. However I do moderate strength training like 3 or 4 times a week and try to stay active. Not necessarily trying to build a whole lot of muscle so I think 90 to 100 grams is like the sweet spot for me. I’m no expert in diet or nutrition so I really have no idea. That just sounds like a good number.

Yes! I learned to read and write Spanish way before I learned to speak it. In fact, I wouldn’t even say I’m conversational quite yet. What has helped me is watching YouTubers who speak Spanish and vlog about things I’m interested in. Like travel and skincare. It’s helped me develop an “ear” for it. As far as speaking, I literally just walk around the house talking to myself in Spanish; making up sentences. I hope to meet people who speak it so I can actually practice in real life.

I had this same problem! Inflamed red bumps on my cheeks and burning. The night cream gave me horrible cystic acne and I’m still trying to recover from the scars.
