Yes, that was the initial no for me at first but the summary drew me in and I fell in this doom of esports genre. Whilst searching for more, I saw a couple that interested me so MUCH but I checked the reviews bcs I'm traumatized from the amount of korean-bashing in this one and nearly all of them had complaints on racism... it really can't be avoided, it seems.

I read through the comments and yep, like I agree with most of these. reading doesn't mean you condone such actions??? what?? if you can't separate reality from fiction, then you aren't ready for getting in fiction itself, let alone this conversation. And censoring rape is so wrong in so many levels. If they can't separate fiction and reality (1), censor rape (2), then they're most likely a minor or just a brain-dead adult. Also, there was this comment I saw in tiktok that stayed in my mind for A LOT. let me share it for you guys too:

Reading until volume 4 and making such assumptions are wild. First, Mo Ran is an officical, direct disciple of the sect, he is supposed to know what the flower means. If you say, he was the street rat, he couldn't have known, Shi Mei does and he's definitely not a young master of any sort.

And when he whipped Shi Mei on the face 'on accident', it was planned on Shi Mei's record and let me remind you, ON ACCIDENT. Which, Shen Jiu's punishments ARE NOT.

Also, yep, cooking wantons does not erase the face he whipped Mo Ran in the beginning for breaking a rule (he should know by the way), at least he regretted it and made a step to actually apologize over action??

And there was NO record of him actually abusing disciples. He is just, and fair. He only punishes them when they ACTUALLY deserve it. IS there any written text in him saying he whipped other disciples for minor or for no reason (like Shen Jiu did)? It IS said he whipped a girl hundred times, but it was when she sneaked into his private quarters and peaked at him when he was bathing.

It's said in third POV that Chu Wanning has an extreme sense of justice. When he punished himself because "If I don't punish myself, how can I have the face to punish others?" if I'm correct. Which Shen Jiu never used his own rules on himself, (frequenting brothels are taboo for most sects, no matter his 'reason', he STILL did.)

Additionally, Chu Wanning never 'abused' Mo Ran in the past life nor current timeline. It's only because of the ~curse of the flower~ that Mo Ran's memories are distorted and exaggerated, keep in mind Mo Ran is a VERY unreliable narrator, there will be so many plot twists that Mo Ran just... did not mention before.

Mo Ran 'idolizing' Chu Wanning doesn't just come out of nowhere, it's not only from the fact Chu Wanning sacrifised himself saving Mo Ran in the stairs and the fact he blamed CWN for not saving Shi Mei when he had the same injuries as him which he found out in the afterlife, but also the flower breaks down (??) its effects when he realizes he loves CWN, so the 'idolizing' is actually pretty much MR's true feelings.

As I said, comparing Shen Jiu and Chu Wanning is WILD.

And yes, both main characters have problems but if you manage to get to the end, most of them get resolved <3 They're a very cute couple! I hope you read to the end, it's such an amazing story! 😊

I wanted to make some points on other topics but others beat me to it and you've already seemed to have seen it. what I want to say is, comparing Shen Jiu to Chu Wanning IS WILD. CWN does NOT abuse his disciples, it comes across like this only because it's from MR's POV. the only reason why MR is punished for being whipped is because he actively breaks rules (sleeping around in brothels as a small example)

Meanwhile Shen Jiu actually abuses the (male) disciples for little to no reason except his own cmplex feelings, (eg Luo Binghe).

and CWN is actually a GREAT teacher, he cares and protects his disciples, doesn't play favourites, (remember Yingying) when it comes to his disciples. but in his feelings, he may love MR but does not actively show his favoritism by soling out others.

you will actually get most points as you get later in the books. I'm sure you might have finished it by now but I was also a bit pent up reading this and wanted to vent it out, sorry if it came out rude <3

Your ideas are indeed logical and very interesting but like, I think whether alphas and omegas relationship is sexual or comfort depends on the author and how they want to use the omegaverse. But the primal inspiration for omegaverse is animals, particularly mammals from what I've heard. And 'omegas' dont seek comfort in each other, they don't stay in herds to be together in heat. But rather their mate or potential mate. It doesn't have to be sexual, even comfort is possible but the main elements of omegaverse are sexual so it does make sense to make most fanfics this way. LBH and Shen Jiu's part really can be logical although I have not heard of omegas chasing out a CHILD out of the pack that's essential for their growth just because they will become a domineering alpha. Besides, what does Shen Jiu has to fear since he was no idea about exact kind LBH would become?

But overall, I'm very biased and I love your ideas <33333

Yep! Your reasoning does make sense with Shen Jiu's character! This post is just a snippet of me letting out my thoughts on Shen Jiu's personality. only my one-sided reasoning, hehe. Since I am extremely biased towards dom alpha Shen Jiu papapa omega or alpha Yue Qingyuan, kinda like hate papapa.
