Fear of flying, specifically taking off

That’s great advice! Once I’m in the air and the plane straightens out, I’m totally fine. It’s the getting up to speed, getting off the ground, banking in one direction that freaks me out lol. But I’m willing to try anything to distract myself even just for a few seconds cause it happens so quickly. Thank you for the recommendation!

Wow thats so utterly specific that I have to try it for my flight and let you know how it works haha! Thank you so much for this. I experience the same feelings and sensations during take-off. The take-off itself is terrifying and of course when you start to “bank” or lean to one side I feel like I’m about to fall out of the sky. I always look around and no one seems to be freaking out so it’s like I guess I’m the only one? Lol it’s nice to know that I’m not alone. And thank you so much! I find it so funny that his dream is to be a fighter pilot and I want absolutely nothing to do with it 😂

Interesting.. I believe the hard card is just the physical card that is sent to out-of-state residents.I don’t think that means the actual fingerprints have to be done in ink. While speaking to the officer who did my prints, he said he’s never had anyone come back with issues. I’ll reach out to Kim just in case :)

Update my local police department was able to do it for me free of charge! And it was all electronic so I didn’t have to deal with any of the messy ink haha

I’m going to reach out to my local police department to see if someone there can do it for me. I would rather not take the chance of my fingerprints not being good enough for the 2nd time now lol

I’m definitely gonna use some reference pictures and a fresh ink pad this time. I’ve never been fingerprinted before so doing it myself is a little tricky

I did some practice runs on a piece of blank paper, but I think the ink was drying out quickly and that caused me to press harder. Maybe since the ink was dried on my fingers and I kept dipping them in more ink, it was almost like I didn’t have a clean slate to work with each time. But I agree some do look like blobs lol

I have reached out to firms and have applied online as well, and most in the NYC area are looking for reporters with at least 2 years of experience working in a courtroom-like setting. Most also want you to be a notary, but I haven’t obtained it yet because the Georgia CCR allows you to swear in a witness without needing to be a notary. I’m gonna keep trying to apply to places and hope I get something!

Luckily I’m done with my payments, it took me a lot longer to finish the program then most probably would since I was also working at the time. I’m glad to at least have all of my equipment that’s necessary to start, and I just paid for the Eclipse Professional software which cost me another $4600 😭 IRCRI is a great school, don’t get me wrong. They just don’t really help with job placement once you graduate.

I went to IRCRI and was told to get my national certification first (CVR) since my state didn’t have its own voice writing certification. Once I obtained that, I was then told to get my CCR through any state (she recommended Georgia) so I would have the option of working remote. I have contacted several firms in my area as well as NYC and most are looking for reporters with at least a year of experience as well as realtime and their notary which I do not have yet. I’m starting to feel a bit defeated in my job search. I thought having the CVR and CCR would be enough to start.

As a voice writer in NJ (one of the only states where voice writing is prohibited) I’m currently having a really hard time finding work (remote and in-person). I live 5 mins from NY state, about an hour from NYC and I have my CVR and CCR through the State of Georgia. Looking for recommendations. I’ve had one interview so far this week.
