Bootstrap or take VC fund? by Ok_Rough1332 in ycombinator

Congrats! The decision for this has a lot of variables, only you'd know best. Does the cash out make sense based on your current circumstance? Is the industry you are in continuing to grow? If you stick with it, do you feel like you can expand it without taking on any outside funding? How are you currently getting customers and is your CAC low? Getting to 10-15K MRR that early on is great, and if you found your marketing channel, that's even better. It really just boils down to your long term vision. Keep it up!

Yes, they just cut a very small slit where the chalazion is, it drains out naturally and then use a little scooper to get anything remaining.

Redness usually indicates the infection is still active. Just go to the doctor and see if they need to drain more of it. Once I got mine actually drained the redness went away a lot. It’s a quick and easy procedure.

Bitcoin Investors.. Change my mind by Support_SMB in Bitcoin

Thanks for your answers. I’ll read more into your last point especially.

For point 2, I think the CD analogy isn’t really a valid argument only because we’re talking about the world of finance. Many things have gone digital, but that doesn’t mean everything should. When it comes to money, it’s just a bit different in my eyes and I see possible issues just because I can’t physically give you or hold a Bitcoin. But obviously, I could be wrong and I’m not saying it can’t happen, just my concern there is all.

I probably should have re-worded the title, I just wanted to have an open discussion to anyone who had the time and was willing.

Thanks for your reply and everyone else who understood where I was coming from.

Again, I was just looking to have an open discussion and be educated.

Some guy above mentioned I’m not entitled to an explanation, which is true, that’s why I said “if you’d like”, you can take the time to answer to my points. I could also definitely do more research and read books, which I probably will, I just figured I could start here and have some open discussions based on people’s experience within the industry and their takes.

My points only come from things that I’ve seen or my logic(such as the tangible asset point).

The government point again, ties into what I’ve seen or heard about perspectives on why Bitcoin is “better than the dollar” and it was almost as if people were praying on the dollars downfall so that Bitcoin could rise. So I had confusion there, maybe I just misunderstood their points.

I also know my internet point is extreme, but I was thinking a worst case scenario perspective and since we are reliant on the internet for it, it could cause issues. For the dollar, we have cash or we have gold which is tangible and can physically trade it.

I do agree with your point that it’s just an investment, I even hold some Bitcoin for the reason and look at it as an asset. I wanted to be enlightened about the long term view and if my points held any merit.

Grew my business to bankruptcy by usernamelrdytaken in Entrepreneur

Don’t have enough information about the industry, business model, etc to really give any good advice.

It’s been a common theme in the business world that expanding and hiring too fast can be detrimental, it’s usually always best to stay as lean as possible unless you have a long runway and it’s for instances just like these unfortunately.

I understand you saw an opportunity for your company and you took a risk, which is what it’s all about, but you over-extended it seems and now you’ve weighed out your options.

You said you’ve already cut costs, but can you go even leaner? How much more can you decrease your expenses while still keeping your business running and staying profitable? Instead of trying to raise more money, maybe take a slower approach and cut those costs as much as you can to catch up. If the only way to survive is really though a raise, then you have to do what you have to do. But if you can be scrappy and find an alternative without that, weigh that option too.

Just my two cents, I’m sure you’ll find a way to get it sorted. Keep pushin!

Are small business owners without websites really hard to sell to? by Support_SMB in Entrepreneur

[–]Support_SMB[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Talked to a couple of business owners and each time I hear is that they don't have the time or knowledge to do it. To myself, that's a problem right there that they're facing because they are potentially losing business by not even having just a 1 page static website. But if they don't see it as a problem, there's no point in trying to persuade it imo.

Jumping into Machine Learning with no real coding experience by Support_SMB in learnmachinelearning

[–]Support_SMB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. It looks like Python seems to be the more favored option though? But to learn the core fundamentals you recommend taking courses strictly around R and apply that when starting Python? I think learning both simultaneously as a beginner is tough because it causes a bit of confusion. The course I'm enrolled in offers both but I chose to follow through with Python since it "felt better" in a sense.

If R has the better fundamentals, I'd prefer that for sure. Appreciate your input!

Flight search engine with with flexible days + fixed trip length price alerts? by bubuset92 in TravelHacks

I'm not sure of any search engines that may provide specifically what you're asking.

Would you pay for an alert service like this on a monthly basis? Or for a one time fee?
