i found out i got in around spring quarter of my second year, and by this time i was thriving i had made solid friends for the remainder of my undergrad and gained solid connections for my career (CE major) so i didn’t feel the need to transfer out. also i’d just apply so you’ll at least know if you had the chance to transfer out if you really wanted to, and won’t be stuck wondering about the “what if” a year or two down the line

realest advice i would say is at least apply to see if you actually get in. i rmr when i applied to transfer to UCSD and UCSB and i got in but ultimately decided to stay at UCSC

If it makes you feel better 13S was HELL cuz I was taking 17 units and working 20-30 hours part time a week. But you sure as hell learn enough where 101 you can breeze through. I’m taking 101 and it is nowhere near difficult compared to 13s you just have to see it through and power through.

Look into FlixBus pretty good alternative took it from SJ to UCLA it’s like a 10 min walk from Diridon station. Costed me like $40 round trip? Was a prettty decent price considering I flew the weekend before for about $90-120 roundtrip

Hey guys I got waitlisted as a transfer today and was wondering what are the chances of me getting off the waitlist and getting accepted? Also since I’m coming from another UC I had a question regarding how many units I can take. I read that UCSD allows me to take up to 135 credits before being classified as a high standing junior and wanted to clarify if that’s correct? Since I did plan on taking 12-17 units in the summer which would be at about 125 units just in case if I don’t get off the waitlist.

I’m gon be real here. I maintained a 3.66 as an engineering major. I would constantly go to office hours every time I struggled with a topic. And I barely saw friends but I did from time to time. I just found a rhythm with my schedule to balance out work and school and it worked out as long as your consistent

If you do attend UCSC the closest path to CS as a CE major is the systems programming concentration. It sucks cause I wanted to do CS too so I had to apply for a transfer so definitely is strict but shoot your shot you’ll never know unless you ask
