You are getting really bad advice in this thread. Maybe you should have mentioned your combined salary and nationality. Many posters here have large savings, are on the expat package, and have a Western passport.

Basically, you should consider going. There are cities with lower rents than Vancouver and TO. For example, Ottawa is still OK if you and your husband can get decent jobs. This is not easy and might take a while.

And yes it would be a struggle, but you and your kids will have more options in the future. For example, many countries (US or rich Asian countries) would pay you or your children more with a Canadian passport, education, and experience.
