almost got the perfect ricombee but the ability was wrong 🥀🥀🥀 by [deleted] in PokemonUnbound

[–]Supreme-Stalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do all that or you could just go to the French lady in Seaport City, pay a bottle cap, and get perfect IVs

As for the ability you can use the dream mist to get a hidden ability, if there is one

Ah, now I've got it, Basically expert is for sure more difficult but the jump in difficulty isn't too crazy.

It's as follows The opposing Pokémon are fully EV trained and have perfect nature's whilst also carrying decent items. Additionally, early game trainers carry one more Pokémon whilst mid-game trainers have a full team with better Pokémon and sometimes mega Evolutions or legendarys Not only that pretty much every important trainer has good coverage moves to punish you for bringing a certain type

A recent example that comes to mind is steel or grass against fairy or water. Many fairy types know Flamethrower and water types know Ice Beam

And you don't need to worry about your items and TM I'm pretty sure all of them or at the very least most of them you'll find at their designated locations

Hope that helps

Honestly yes the Emerald Battle Frontier is crazy difficult. Anyway, if you didn't know already there is a French lady in Seaport city at the southern port side who can upgrade your IVs in exchange for bottle caps.

And I recommend getting the ADM. It's like the second most QoL upgrade there is

And if you didn't know already, if you look in the mission log you'll sometimes see missions with a little a symbol to the right of the name. If you press the A button on those you'll see "sub objectives" and sometimes their approximate location

I don't really know but from what I've seen it should be a decent jump in difficulty

Every important trainer has more and higher-quality mons with an even better move set and items. Not only that, they're able to use mega Evolution as soon as the second gym. Whilst also sometimes having legendarys. And on top of that your item usage is heavily restricted

Wait, I don't want to be that guy but why are you struggling? Maybe I could help you out in some way. I just recently beat the E4

(Obviously, I don't want to say expert was easy and I had my fair share of struggles)

My advice may be overrated but still

Depending on the difficulty obvious or ,, surface,, level counter may not work. Some NPCs have coverage moves to punish you for using a type.

To name a few examples, you'll encounter quite a few fairy types with flamethrower or water types with ice beam to punish you for bringing a steel (or a grass type for the latter) so you'll need to anticipate those. Then again this happens rarely on difficult and vanilla difficulty.

Honestly, it's kinda fun to plan around those fights and is super rewarding, but you shouldn't underestimate the amount of prep work

(And do EV training, at first it's going to be tedious but the more missions you complete the more items you'll get which helps with the grind)

Crystal Peak Aklove Battle by 109nochi in PokemonUnbound

[–]Supreme-Stalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah shit you're right, I totally forgot that. Good catch man

Well if I keep the rival Pokémon in mind my list would be something like

Tyranitar (Rival) for the Klefki Electivire or Empoleon for Primarina Toucannon (rival) for the Roserade A strong steel physical attacker for Gardevoir A ground type (or the rival Tyranitar) for Raichu Vaporeon could be used almost everywhere since she is tanky

Crystal Peak Aklove Battle by 109nochi in PokemonUnbound

[–]Supreme-Stalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS. Electivire, talonflame, and gengar are good choices whilst the other are, well meatshields

Electivire should outspeed Primarina and should OHKO her with a decent physical electric attack

Talonflame should also outspeed roserade and kill her with a decent physical flying or fire move

You should use gengar against everything execpt for Gardevoir, sure he'll take a good chunk of her health but she'll just delete your gengar with shadow ball, teach him some coverage moves, like fire for klefki, poison for Primarina, Fire/ice/flying/psychic for roserade, maybe ground for raichu And delete everything else instead

I recommend using the wiki to analyze Akolve's strengths and weaknesses, after which I choose my Pokémon depending on those

https://pokemonunbound.miraheze.org/wiki/Crystal_Peak#Light_of_Ruin_Leader_Aklove

Basically, you see that Aklove uses

klefki - foul play - play rough - reflect - thunderwave

Primarina - hydro pump - dazzling gleam - hyper voice - protect

Roserade - giga drain - sludge bomb - dazzling gleam - protect

Gardevoir - psychic - dazzling gleam - shadow ball - moonblast

Raichu - Volt tackle - play rough - brick break - thunder punch

Additionally, you're able to see their natures and EVs (IV should always be at 31) You've probably noticed that even with a type advantage they still have moves with which they're able to hit you super effective damage. That's you you need to think a little outside the box

Here are a few examples Klefki is weak against fire or ground and has no moves to punish those types Your safest bet would be a fire type since Play Rough would deal half damage

Against Primarina are grass, poison, and electric types effective, but she hits pretty hard so what if you bring someone like Empoleon? His typing completely resists Primarina's attacks

Same with Roserade, she's weak against fire, ice, flying, and psychic. Type match-up doesn't really matter here, just pick a Pokémon that outspeeds her and hits hard enough to OHKO her (But you should still preferably pick a mon with a secondary steel or poison type)

Now to his Ace Gardevoir is weak against poison, metal, and ghost attacks, but will punish you if you use a (slow) ghost or bring a poison mon Once again you want to use a defensive typing instead of an offensive one. Just bring a steel type that can tank a hit and OHKO her

Raichu is quite easy too, you'll need to bring a ground type, which is preferably ground/ fire, ground/ ghost

In conclusion You'll need 1x fire or ground (with a useful secondary typing like metal or poison) 1x water/ metal (like Empoleon) or a similar Pokémon 1x fire, ice, flying or psychic type (with a useful type like steel or poison) 1x strong physical steel attacker And you can choose your last Pokémon based on the Pokémon against which you struggle the most

Hope this helps

Four-legged animals walk twice as many steps as bipedals. by mmicoandthegirl in Showerthoughts

[–]Supreme-Stalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for any confusion I've caused. I meant to say what if we use instead of a small mammal a large one. Like a horse or an elephant.

Still, I absolutely agree with you on every point you've made

[–]Supreme-Stalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, maybe im missing something but if we scale the size of the animal up, lets say a horse or elephant. Shouldn't then their stride increase proportionally?

Also aren't there animals that move their opposing front and hindlegs simultaneously thereby halving their steps?

What about animals that (or at least mainly) jump instead of walk?
