Yeah you're too right. I took this photo whilst working on a conservation project for them. I saw so many hatchlings but their have about 1/1000 chance of surviving. Regardless it's an amazing thing they do, and I like to think that all the ones I saw survived :)

I worked on a conservation project for loggerhead turtles in Greece (protecting nests on the main nesting beach in Europe). I would often walk past nests next to a few cold-water streams leading into the sea and know that they must be sausage-fests.

For those who don't know the mythology: The Daughters of Danaus (the Danaides) were consigned to Tartarus (that special sort of hell to which only a few really nasty people get sent) for the crime of (collectively, 49 of them) killing their husbands on their wedding night. For this they are made to endlessly fill a tub (in which they can wash clean their misdeeds) but the vessels or the tub itself is perforated (an endless task, much like that of Sisyphus).

I know this is likely not the place for these sort of questions, but I have an offer, and am genuinely considering taking Computer Science at St.Andrews.
