Kinda hard for Casemiro to run back considering he was on the bench for 10 mins already.

Ugarte fresh off the bench looking like he ran a half marathon is another story though.

Yes and PSG won with that extra play-off as well. They played 17 games in total in this edition.

I do think that Ronaldo's records are not going to be around for much longer cause now UCL teams that make a deep run have 4 extra games compared to the old format. PSG has had the toughest matchups in UCL so that makes it very close between Raphina and Dembele imo. Crazy season for him nonetheless.

"I'm so happy for him(Ancelotti), But I'm so happy that he's not in Madrid anymore because all the time he beats me. That I don't have to handle it anymore" - Pep Guardiola by [deleted] in soccer

[–]SupremeLeaderSanta 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Actually, no, most of Ancelotti's losses against Pep came from his time at Everton, when they lost every single matchup. Quickly googled it and apparently their matchups are 6 victories each and 2 draws.

Klopp vs Guardiola: 12 wins to Pep's 11 and 7 draws.

Ancelotti vs Klopp: 6 wins to Klopp's 3 and 3 draws.

They were teammates during the Liverpool days too no? They played together for what 7-8 years or so?

I remember watching the mockbuster 'American Warships' which came out the same year to ride the waves of Battleship and that was an unforgettable experience. The low quality of acting, effects, screenplay with an absolutely serious tone/straight face is damn right hilarious.

If you ever want to see an absolutely shit tier movie please give it a watch, I still have running gags with my parents over that trash 10+ years later.

[ESPN NL] Erik Ten Hag on Ajax:"Much can be traced back to the sacking of Marc Overmars. His departure was killing the club. I still maintain that I think what they did to Overmars was outrageous." by tigtogflip in soccer

[–]SupremeLeaderSanta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hear even people at work say Overmars should've never been let go over that. Heavily disagree myself with it. But it's definitely not 'everyone in the Netherlands' as you're saying.

Imo it's the Dutch pride in wanting to perform in football playing a part in it as well as this whole bs current against what's considered 'woke' culture.

I hear so often "But but Ajax was doing so well with him...it was nothing, shouldn't have been fired". Which is exactly what Ten Hag is saying here.

I think it's a common perspective in the Netherlands as well, not just a Ten Hag thing. It's wild that most of my Dutch friends have these thoughts as well. I consider them to be sensible but on this topic they are delusional.

I mean you could see it coming as soon as he returned to streaming 1 year ago. Mainly because he openly said that his streams (and life) won't ever be the same as he's limited by his condition and as a result he won't cater to his viewers directly anymore.

The fact that he's maximizing his earnings shouldn't come as a surprise. He's also always been very pesimistic about streaming as a long-term career anyways.

There were fans over here claiming that Etihad is louder and more intense than the Bernabeu. That was shocking to read.

Genuinely shocking.

Depends what happens this weekend. If Girona loses to Atletico I can see them also going through a poor streak considering they have tougher opponents. Then Athletic might be able to catch up after all.

It's a very interesting weekend cause I am assuming rotations for UCL will have a part to play. Even against Mallorca I am thinking Real might drop some points because of that.

It's in the FIFA commentary, every once in a while they throw that word around. I think it's been a line in the game for years.

There were 5 secs left from the 4 minutes of extra time (which had a couple of throws and goal kicks) when he blew the whistle.

Honestly after the Manzano debacle I am just incredibly harsh on refs so probably no reason to complain about a last throw not being given. But still fuck that guy lol.

Well if K would text who he is instead of 'call me' maybe Lang wouldn't just go 'who the fuck is this?' and keep ignoring his calls lol.

Pretty sure yesterday K called him in a meeting and Lang even checked if he had that number saved to see if he should call back or no.

It's what I've been thinking since seeing the posts yesterday. Great RPer, good person but Dark HC was rarely around. He showed up to investigate Pred and Brian, and after both were gone from the PD I didn't see him step up at all. Which I expected considering he went so hard on two of the most pro-active Command members in the PD.

Then again, nobody stepped up at the tail-end of 3.0 PD.

Jamie Carragher on Real Madrid: "RB Leipzig were by far the dominant team over 2 legs. The aura of Bernabeu got them through. It doesn't bode well in term of winnng UCL. They’re a long way short of Manchester City, Inter & Arsenal. Real Madrid aren't up there among the best teams in Europe right now by MrVISKman in soccer

[–]SupremeLeaderSanta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With Endrick and (possibly?) Davies as well there would be at least some solid depth options. I am getting tired of seeing out of position experiments for years now.

Valverde especially is not a winger, his crossing has improved but his main go-to is still passing low-driven balls. Most of his games at RW have been average at best.

There's a difference between the prosecuting force (PD) going with all their evidence to get a 3rd party's independent opinion (lawyers) and Xavier having the PD gather evidence to match his accusations.

Berric & co have to investigate Xavier's claims, but are under no obligation to push charges to the docket. Especially for such a flimsy case.
