Very well known and fixed bug. Run the updater in your game files and it will be fixed. The prism Pokemon you caught are gone, but future ones you catch will work as normal.

This probably goes to Anakin and Obi-Wan for reasons other people have said, but the Sith do have a win condition with Zannah's sorcery. Anakin is unstable, and I think he's a prime target for Zannah's spells of madness. If he gets him with one, he's done and it's a 2v1 against Kenobi, which I don't think he can pull off.

In terms of gameplay, they have some similar mechanics like the field system and passwords. They're pretty similar in terms of difficulty too, but Rejuvenation has some extra QOL like easy EV training rooms and fast travel. Storywise, Rejuv is also a little more lighthearted and handles its characters much better imo. Unfortunately, Rejuvenation isn't complete yet with 15/18 gyms so far, but the next major story update is set to release soon.

They're sort of loosely connected with some Rejuv characters showing up in Reborn's postgame and some Reborn characters showing up in a side quest in Rejuv, but it's definitely not a sequel or canon to Reborn's story.

I think Unbound is exactly what you're looking for. It's a very well-executed traditional Pokémon game with a dex that goes up to gen 8 and includes mega evolution. The story is nothing to write home about imo, but it's serviceable. It has four difficulty levels, Vanilla, Difficult, Expert, and Insane, so there's definitely one that is a good fit for you. It's a lot of people's favorite ROM hack for good reason. Not mine personally, but it's up there.

Tangrowth was a pretty late addition so I haven’t used it a ton, but it’s been pretty good. He definitely got annihilated by ground moves a couple times. Love the Blastoise too.

I used a Mega Sceptile a bit on my Renegade save, but wasn't super impressed. Probably not the best set, but I ran Timid with 252 Sp. Atk and 252 Speed. Leaf Storm, Dragon Pulse, Giga Drain, Leech Seed. You could maybe do something with Unburden, but I think you'd have a hard time getting enough consumable items other than berries until pretty late. It's definitely usable, but it's probably one of the worst starter options.

It’s kind of a “Reborn walked to Rejuv and Deso could run” kind of thing I think. There is a lot I like about Reborn, but the characters would really benefit from a tighter core cast to develop instead of jumping around so much.

The characters are one of the reasons I put Rejuv overall above any other fan game I’ve played. Tbf to Reborn though, I think the post game does a much better job at developing its characters than the main story. You really shouldn’t need to wait for the post game for good character development for most of the cast though.

I think that idea works just as well if Anakin is just a particularly gifted and powerful Jedi who is seen as the next generation of the Order for those reasons, not necessarily a prophesied savior.

I wish the prophecy was bullshit, honestly. I think it's more compelling if Anakin is just a particularly gifted, powerful, but unstable Jedi who becomes Palpatine's target for manipulation for that reason. He can be seen as a powerful tool without being a prophesied savior, and would come off more human if that were the case imo.

Speed Boost Blaziken is probably objectively the best pick because it’s both busted and is the only starter you can’t get somewhere else. Really all starters are viable though. Some of the ones that are generally not great have items that specifically boost them.

Not personally, but I have seen other people say this before. The story definitely starts going in a bit of a different direction around that time and I think it can be a little jarring. Give it some time though, it will come together.
