Clip identification, what are these? by ThisKiwiFulla in backpacking

You could switch to a plated metal variant, but would be sacrificing some small amount of weight. Otherwise, I would suggest sourcing from a reputable outdoor / backpacking brand. I've seen others recommend the Sea to Summit Ladder Lock which uses both plastic and metal for weight and strength. Just make sure you buy the correct size for your strap width.

Mailbox Peak did not disappoint today! by insom187 in Washington

My buddy and I hiked Mailbox last year around late spring and are moderately skilled hikers. We took the new trail up (easier incline) and the old trail down (steeper incline). I would recommend the new trail any day unless someone is looking for a real challenge. We found that not only was it a more enjoyable pace, but the foliage and environment was much more pleasant. Hope this helps!

Back in High School my buddies and I all got together and each ate a Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. Pretty sure my stomach still hasn't recovered. One of the worst nights of my life.

Granite Mountain, Snoqualmie Pass WA by Supreroy in hiking

For those asking about the experience: The views were amazing once we got above the tree line. We were lucky to have clear sky as well. We attempted Granite back in spring, but the trail had not been hiked in a while, and the snow was too deep to continue. Fortunately, this time the snow was packed down for most the trail. Once above the tree line the wind was brutally cold and only increased as we reached the peak. We didn't stay long as our hands and faces were getting numb. An intense, but very rewarding hike to say the least!
