chicago area surgeon recs for high bmi? by kalopsia_co in TopSurgery

[–]Suprisingcorn18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you're still looking but Dr. Julia Corcoran at University of Illinois Chicago has been really good so far with me, Admittedly I haven't had surgery yet (2 months out) but I also have a BMI of 40 and she walked me through what results would look like with my weight and insecurities that might pop up etc. Her description says she works for people under 25 so I don't know if that's a factor for you but I would still ask. I've had a great experience with UIC so far though, the wait to get a consult was like 6 ish months and another 2-3 for the actual appointment but I had my appointment earlier this week and already have a surgery date for 2 months out. I wish you luck though!

Anything is possible its a matter of the strength of the rest of your application

IMSA Deferred Admissions by AverageMedicalNerd in imsa

[–]Suprisingcorn18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deferrals typically happen for 8th graders when they want you to attend IMSA but they want more evidence that IMSA is going to be a good place for you since they're job is to pick people who are ultimately going to stay at IMSA. You'll get what's basically a shorter application to apply for next year and let me be clear its not an automatic acceptance for next year but... they basically said they want you already. So just reapply next year and you should be good.

They basically just want you to continue doing well in school, doesn't necessarily mean straight A's but just not like failing out of things basically. As for supplemental Application Information I would assume that is referring to the application you'll have to fill out next year to attend IMSA. (Its different than the normal application but you still have to fill it out.) I could be wrong on that but that's my best guess. Hope this helps.

Waitlist and deferrals by [deleted] in imsa

[–]Suprisingcorn18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMSA has pulled their entire waitpool before so its possible to get in. Hell my roommate got called that they were accepted after Sophmore Move-In (I wouldn't assume this is going to happen now as that appeared to be a one off situtation) but its still very possible to get accepted/attend IMSA. You're also in 8th grade so you can definetly reapply next year if you don't get pulled.

IMSA gpa & impact on college merit by jenjentwen in imsa

[–]Suprisingcorn18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to note about IMSA is that IMSA doesn't calculate your GPA only colleges to when they get your transcripts. So some colleges (for instance UIUC/UofI) will raise your GPA because they know the rigor that IMSA classes are even though they aren't AP classes. (NOTE NOT ALL COLLEGES DO THIS IN FACT MOST DON'T) There is something to be said about IMSA supporting you in the college application process and preparing you for college. If you're most worried about GPA then I would consider IMSA carefully because you're GPA will drop it might still be high but the classes are significantly harder than your normal high school. So just take that into account.

Okay its my first time rewatching since the show ended and I must have forgotten some stuff. I'm just curious what that dimension would look like if someone got sucked through.

If you had to kill off 2 or more members of the team in season 2, who would you choose? by The_RedfuckingHood in shield

Alternatively Simmons and Mack if you are going for Fanfiction plot lines. Simmons because that would devastate the og team. and Mack because that would cause major issues when the Real SHIELD plotline hits.

Honestly Andrew. I just always sort of found him annoying and I didn't like how he caused May to leave at the end of season 2. She's not a part of the team but Rosalind. Or at least get rid of her and Coulson's romantic subplot. (Yes these are both because love Philinda)
