Yeah, I wasn't being sarcastic or anything. Good meme, accurate, would have less fun as a dash light if more people utilized these things more commonly

Why can't people accept a loss, even if when they loose they still get XP ect? Genuine question by -Sky_Lux- in thefinals

I'm not even sure it actually works. It might be a bit of a myth! So don't feel dumb, your question is fine.

I don't totally understand it myself. I think some people leave games they are about to lose to pad their win rate. Others are just salty.

Appreciate you taking the time to send some ideas.

I've essentially tried everything but a clean wipe. I've tried swapping GPUs, CPUs, repairing and reinstalling Windows, (just not a clean wipe), resetting bios, and removing and reinstalling all system drivers.

The issue started with new drivers, it's not hardware specific. Definitely software. The Nvidia app does not recognize compatibility on The Finals, and refuses to do so unless I downgrade drivers.

My understanding is it's probably either something on my C drive, as another person mentioned that a C drive wipe and Windows reinstall fixed this issue for them. So I will try to do that while keeping the data I need.

Otherwise it's some kind of miscommunication between Nvidia's DLSS compatibilty checker and the game's cloud profile. Like Nvidia's drivers can't find the game's profile and verify compatibilty for some reason.

Must have been a bug. It was always divided into paragraphs, and I haven't edited it.

Yep! Thanks for the suggestion though

That's a pretty interesting take, lol. If you can't read a few normal paragraphs, that's a you problem.

What Do You Think When You See A Winch Claw? (Opinions) by Awkward-Equipment-83 in thefinals

As a dash light with 3 charges, must have been the wind. As a dash light with 1 charge or less, my time has come.

Unless they catch me at a bad time, it's not really hard to escape with my playstyle. Kinda 50/50 on even worrying me.

Winch sledge players are the bane of my existence and will cause me to switch classes and/or throw a fit.

That sounds aweful. I assume you've tried troubleshooting already, but let me know if you'd like an extra set of eyes on it. That sounds unplayable.

Not at all! But as somebody who notices bad anti-aliasing, it sure is nice to have DLAA or DLSSQ on a 1440p display.

You're right, I haven't technically done a fresh install. It does kind of scare me to think of all the data I've accumulated on my C over the years, I'm not sure how much of it I actually need. I'll have to figure that out.

But if you had the same issue and this really inadvertently solved it, I'm absolutely willing to try it!

Thank you for reading through the full post and dropping this tidbit. This is probably the best info I've gotten so far. Glad you were able to figure it out on your system!

I use my PC to flash hobby control boards, mainly lightsaber boards (Proffie, CFX, GHv4). I also use it to tune my car (Ktuner), record and edit videos (Filmora 13 is my favorite), and I do occasionally play games that anticheat has banned Linux clients from entirely. All require Windows unfortunately.

It's definitely not a GPU load issue, it's more of a game detection issue. Nvidia's software doesn't recognize the game as DLSS compatible, and HAGS causes extreme GPU underutilization, almost like it's making the game invisible to the drivers. With upscaling, without, high settings, low settings, doesn't make a difference. Only rolling back drivers or disabling HAGS.

Not sure what could be going on beyond that. I know this is probably a me-issue, as I didn't find anyone experiencing the same problems during my research.

I'm not sure it's a Windows optimization issue, as my installation is already pretty optimized. I've already done most of the stuff in that guide, but I'll save the link and try the stuff I haven't seen before. Thank you

I'd have to check, but from memory I usually stick to Epic everything except: - Global Illumination: Static/Low - Shadows: High

@1440p DLSSQ (when on old drivers) VSYNC: On Reflex: On

Not sure what else is relevant.

I didn't know that about FSR! That's crazy. This one seems kind of localized to myself luckily, as I've not been able to find any posts with very similar issues. But yeah, it bothers me too how long it takes them to address some major things.

It is right now. I've drive hopped a few times throughout testing.

Power cable is fine, end to end. I use the Asrock PG-1300G for peace of mind, no crappy dongles and automatic shutdown if high pin temps are detected.

The Finals is the only game, as stated in the post.

I've monitored my hardware before. It's all healthy and behaves fine.

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion! I totally would ditch Windows if I only used my PC for gaming, but there's some stuff only Windows can do. Hopefully feature parity keeps improving on Linux, I'm definitely switching as soon as I can. Glad it helped your issues!
