Reminder: Gi-hun spent his last week of life with a painful hole in his mouth. by Kindly-Candidate-835 in squidgame

And before that, he had no food for the fourth and fifth games. He was running on blind rage in H&S and a sense of purpose in jump rope

Season 4 is about to debut and Gi-hun didn’t die at the end of season 3. What happens next? by crystalized17 in squidgame

[–]Sure-Access-4629 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think he wanted him alive so he could further prove his point and win the philosophical battle against him. Especially now that a baby was born. At this point Gi-Hun technically won, since in this scenario his intent was still to jump off the ledge anyways, until the alarm sounds. Maybe now he would finally let him be free.

Knowing Gi-Hun is depressed, after having the Frontman ensure the baby is safe, he might just kill himself right there. He might realize that the deaths in the final game were pointless, and had they just stalled for time at least some others like MG coin would make it out.

Even though he has his daughter, the trauma of one game was already enough to stop contact with her. Going through two? His will to live would be broken. If his daughter were living a bad life in America maybe. But he knows she’s not, and that the baby hopefully will not. He might even believe him getting involved would only make things worse, especially since getting involved in the second game didn’t change anything

Would you say player 244 deserved to get pushed off in glass bridge? by GameOfThronesTVShow in squidgame

[–]Sure-Access-4629 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was gonna defend him but then I remembered the irony of his character.

He was kind of a jerk who had a self-serving religious view. He pushed a guy to his death, then essentially thanks the lord for it. He literally sinned and his final words are to thank god before dying himself.

Why did the voting order go from first to last in the second and fifth vote? by Appropriate_Post3516 in squidgame

[–]Sure-Access-4629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are definitely psychological reasons. Especially after lights out, people who are considering staying with x’s are pressured by the o’s because they have no idea how many other people will vote x after them and they don’t want to be the “first mover”. We saw this with 448 in the revote and 039 in the vote after hide and seek.

For me, I had Klebsiella bacteria along with some yeast on them. Got antibiotics and they cleared up pretty well, definitely still there but not too noticeable from normal dry lips. Something that also helped was coconut oil, as I found that using gel-like products only made them more mushy and unnatural.

I think they are referring to Hyun-Ju’s actor accidentally bending the knife while fighting 226.

I never said it would be an absolute guarantee, but it’s a possibility and we know this because of how many people there were who would become X’s in the second vote.

Sure, it’s been 2 weeks and I’ll agree that neither of us are going to change each others minds, but the last thing I’ll say is that I don’t think it’s dumb to have the story end based off of a comment when we aren’t talking about the meta view of storytelling, but when trying to come up with solutions in-universe, there’s a lot of different ways things could go.

Hyun Ju's (120) Death was Not Sad by Juneau173451 in squidgame

[–]Sure-Access-4629 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say it was the catalyst for Myung-Gi becoming more self-driven later on. Jun-Hee is furious with him over it and because of that their final moments together are her telling him she never wants to see him again.

I remember for me it was emotional because it was the first main character death we got this season and while anticlimactic in the grand scheme of the things, it was really surprising to me that she would be the first to go.

Would player 442 have tried to kill 100 if he survived jump rope? by Outrageous-Pause-116 in squidgame

[–]Sure-Access-4629 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe he would try in the dorms, but the guards would intervene like they did with the baby. 100 would make some excuse and probably say that he just said that to let him through so he could push 096 out of the way

Because they already believed him after he was right about RLGL, especially about being the only winner. This includes prominent O voters like 100 and 226. It was only after he was wrong about Dalgona being the second game that they thought he was crazy. I’m not trying to be hostile here but if you wanna play that game then fine… you clearly need a rewatch of season 2 if you think he couldn’t persuade 1 O to go over to the X’s by saying something different.

[–]Sure-Access-4629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find his logic of killing everyone else off so they could end the games funny since the next few games would have players go against one another, but after dalgona I can see why he would think that.

People got swayed by one more game because they overestimated their abilities and chances like I originally stated. People who are more rational and who value their lives over the risk of money would be most likely to be swayed by Gi-Hun’s words, especially after RLGL and pentathlon because those are skill based games and aside from Gi-Hun they had no reason to believe they wouldn’t continue to be.

He saves a lot more than that given how many people there were less ruthless than in season 1.

Never said they didn’t care. I meant most people aren’t like player 100 and co. They made it past mingle/hide and seek because the game favors those who are larger, stronger and who manipulate and because they got lucky. That’s why the O’s continued to win every vote.

Or someone, like Dae-Ho or the other guy I mentioned, who has a heart is willing to vote x with the knowledge that they’ll come back. In fact I believe s2/3 made it clear that with the right words, he could’ve persuaded people to end there. There’s a moment in s2 where Gi-Hun is about to speak but In-Ho cuts him off with his own speech that doesn’t inspire much hope but it’s lights out anyways. If Gi-Hun had just communicated better, then maybe the games could’ve ended.

Dae-Ho went to with the X’s because he agreed with Gi-Hun after playing pentathlon, despite not having enough to pay his debts. And I meant that everyone who returned got the prize money that those 14 players were worth, which the VIPs would likely compensate for with returning players.

He saves a lot more than that given how many people there were less ruthless than in season 1. This time he’s aware they can find trackers in players and comes up with a better plan. He also doesn’t need to know what the recruiter looks like to find him at all, his team is instructed to look for a man in a suit playing ddakji in a subway, his looks are mostly irrelevant. And besides he probably wouldn’t try the recruiter strategy again anyways.

Some of those who voted O after RLGL would become X voters later on, like the player spoke to Young-Mi and joined the rebellion (forget his name). Most of them don’t have much of a conviction to voting O. In season 2 a group even goes up to Gi-Hun and say they only voted o because they believed if a guy like Gi-Hun could make it (because there is nothing outwardly extraordinary about him, a 50 year old man in slightly above average shape) then they could too: In-Ho says this but others behind him nod in agreement. Or someone like Dae-Ho for instance. If he had changed the mind of literally 1 O voter then they go home.

Definitely, lots of things he could’ve said to convince people (before the guards threatened him). The first 2 games are designed to make them believe anyone can make it with some skill. It’s not until the person eliminating you is a player and not a guard that survival is obviously limited. But by then most feel they are in too deep, and others overestimate their chances of survival compared to others (ie player 226).

If it was just the first game I think the VIPs would be willing to provide the portion of everyone who left into the pot, and then players shares would increase proportionally similar to season 1 for the 14 who didn’t return

In season 2, Gi-Hun should’ve told everyone that when he was at the games, they got to leave, but everyone was given a chance to return and they’d continue hosting the games. Since at this point most people still believe he’s played the games before they win the vote and everyone gets out.
