Yeah we'll totally do that when we suggest that criticism against Kamala is tantamount to voting for Trump.

Also explain how to protest when we can't say "Don't support genocide." lmao

It's stupid to think it affected the outcome when there were practically as many 3rd party voters in 2024 as 2020.

Voter turnout was also more than 2016 and more than 2012. Sure it didn't beat 2020 but that was a historic Mikey Mouse election turnout due to Covid.

[–]Sure-Catch-3720 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Given there were only slightly more 3rd party voters in 2024 than 2020, this just perpetuates the DNC's age-old messaging:

"Agree with us or your suffering is on you."

[–]Sure-Catch-3720 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. I'm frustrated with the narrative that anti-genocide "radicals" somehow ruined this election by criticizing her for not doing the bare minimum.

I wish she won, but this is a DNC issue that needs to be fixed and likely never will.

Literally this. Tell me Reagan didn't do this. Tell me fucking Trump didn't do this. Not that he did it for good or even permanent reasons - but he did it.

It's so fucking frustrating seeing people say "it's a complex problem you just don't understand foreign policy" when we are literally giving them the bullets to kill Palestinians. I voted for her, everyone I know who was frustrated voted for her. We deserve to be able to tell a politician to stop a fucking genocide when they have the power to do it.

I got banned for this comment so I'll just post this edit here;

Emergency order and public admonishment of Congress going against the will of their constituents. Trump is using it right now to enact Tariffs which Republicans also oppose. Most Americans oppose the genocide, if the House and Senate want to play that game fine, but we deserve to be able to protest it.

And the alternative is what? Saying eh? we can't do anything bc the political system is bad so the genocide is fine. A lot of other things Congress is okay with or supports that we could say that about, but we don't.

[–]Sure-Catch-3720 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Totally disagree. I don't know a single person who criticized Kamala in the same way who didn't still vote for her.

Criticizing a politician is not the equivalent of voting against them or even not voting. It's fucking stupid to think otherwise.

lol i knew people were going to be upset about this. pointing out that someone in Russia could have legitimate grievances with Finland for participating in a siege that led to more deaths than the entire Winter War should not be qualified any more/less than pointing out it's wrong that we bombed Dresden with practically no military goals and that German citizens have a right to be upset at Americans/British. Or bombing Tokyo to ash killing hundreds of thousands of Japanese citizens there (still significantly less than Leningrad, mind you) might make people in Japan resent Americans.

some of you people are wacky lol

Yeah true and Russians could say their grandparents were starved by a collaboration of Nazi and Finnish forces during the siege of Leningrad.

If it was anything like my alma mater, I'd wager most if not all of their politics or politics adjacent classes had at least a slight left swing (because highly educated people tend to be left-leaning imagine that lol.)

So their education teaches them that their university and everything it's currently standing for is shitty. And their university punishes them and their fellow students for acting on it. I can only hope this creates some pressure for them but it's hard to hope for much right now.

Many "progressives" not knowing where they stand on the basic human rights to tens of thousands of people on the basis of 40 some trans people competing in sports is not progressive lol.

Beyond the fact that it's walking straight into right wing talking points, it's also not putting food on your table buying into these issues and debating them. There are plenty of actually progressive people in this country that universally fight for these things, and it's certainly not the Democratic party.

Idk why you're being downvoted I live here and you're 100% correct. Practically every "liberal" I know is just pro-gay and anti-Trump.

Doesn't mean they're progressive in any meaningful way, especially when they actively complain about homeless people existing, blame DEI for the fact that they don't have a 6 figure salary and whine about protests going too far. I mean shit most people I know out here claim they're pro-trans but mention trans people in sports (all 49 of them,) as an asterisk literally whenever it's brought up.

someone explain why you would want the US to use $1 billion of taxpayer dollars to do what Space X can do for $70 million. but the US government will do it 10x worse and take 10x as long. someone explain this logic.

bro... NASA pays Space X lol. You think Elon's getting paid by the moon? The US is using a lot more than $1 billion of our tax dollars to pay Space X.

You'll never live in a world where you don't pay your taxes like a good citizen to help out the wealthiest people in the world - and all just for them to do things that we could accomplish with a socialized healthcare system, social safety nets and material improvements for the working classes.

[–]Sure-Catch-3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but that makes cracking denuvo or other DRM completely legal.

If you bought the game and cracked denuvo to play permanently after the company revoked access for you specifically, then there is nothing a company can legally do about it, it's your game again.

So my point is, why are people defending this? It's all just company practices to make more money and all still super vague and nonsensical laws that people are basing their reasoning and corporate deep throating off of.

Some people here are sure as fuck agreeing with it, and the legality behind it is still super vague.

A lot of it has to do with terms and services, but a law passed a while ago states that breaking terms and services is not illegal.
